For those that actually lift, what shoes are you currently wearing or recommend?

I was just looking at the metcon 9 in olive green on Nike.com were on sale for $100 from $150. Definitely thinking about em.

I like to do light running or incline speed walk. You think they would be a problem for this type of cardio?

Reebok Nano X for a few years now. Perfect shoe. There’s newer models, but the pair I have are still essentially new.

I lift exclusively in these. I wouldn’t have a problem doing cardio in them, but I don’t do cardio.

IMO no, esp if ur planning on doing over 30+ mins

You can def feel the difference of stiffness from traditional running shoes

I use separate shoes for each, I don’t lift and do cardio in the same workout.
I don’t remember the models, but an adidas powerlifting shoe, and a new balance running shoe.

I have no brand loyalty, get whatever is comfortable. The powerlifting shoe will be stiff.

This, I have high top Chuck Taylor's for lifting and Altra Escalante 3.0s for jogging / running . I have special insoles for my feet too

Go to a running shop to get your shoes and insoles tailored to your feet

I wear Nike metcons and do both weightlifting and cardio in them. They were developed for cross training, so idk wtf that poster above is talking about. (Super Ded fkn Srs)

I've tried chucks and hated them. They have horrible arch support.

barefoot deadlift, adipowers squat.

If you're older, you'd want a runner with more ankle support. Too many variations out there to list, but don't get the knit/mesh yeezy style of runners. Also depends on surface you run on. A lot of the yeezy-type squishy foam ones are great on track and road, but terrible for dirt tracks, and vice versa.

Been using the Reebok Nano 9 for quite some time now. I want to try NoBull next. Like gman said, I like cross trainers because they were made to cross train srs. Also, I always look for something with a wide toe box.

Were you doing cardio in chucks? I never tried cross trainers. But never had arch issues when lifting in chucks . I land mid sole when I jog so a zero drop running shoe is best for me.

u can do cardio in em but they are far from a good option.

metcons are like vans/chucks with a bit of arch

It's night and day between my Asics running shoes vs metcons

I like lifting in Chuck Taylors. Any flat shoe works for deadlifting though, like vans or specialty deadlift shoes. I have a pair of oly shoes I wear on squat days sometimes. When I lowbar I prefer a flat shoe but sometimes if I really want to target my quads I'll wear my Olympic lift squat shoes. They have an elevated heal so your knees travel further forward and really puts the tension on the quads

high top chuck taylors if I'm lifting.

Either Nike Alphafly or Nike InfinityRN 4s if I'm running.

I got my son and I both a pair of Adidas Powerlift 4 Weightlifting shoes. Good for squats and deadlifts. You wouldn't want to do cardio in them, as they are flat bottomed for the purpose of lifting. Not crazy expensive at around $80 on Amazon. The prior pair last 3-4 years.

I have a pair of Reebok Nanos from years ago that are great for lifting. They're decent for cardio too but I just walk or bike. I've looked at the newer ones since I could use a new pair and they all look too cushiony, not flat like mine. I wear Brooks for dedicated cardio when not lifting.

So i watch watching the pro creator (Hany Rambod) pre Mr.O videos last night and he discuses this topic here.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VGu1...vogenNutrition

I have worn many shoes but a medium thickness nike running shoe allows me to do everything that i want.

OTOMIX Trainers.

Either the Stingray or the Ultimate Trainers. I never noticed much difference between the two.

Other than my Pendlay squat shoes, it's all I ever wear in the gym.

I have 3 pairs; black, white and blue:

Barefoot or in socks (srs). It feels great to squat and deadlift without shoes. I don't do inside cardio but I do hike and run around outdoors and I'll just wear regular sneakers.
