I'm ****ing tired of dealing with my LG cx being half broken, not sure if going oled again. Or might just get a non oled for my game room

Sony X90. I think it is K series now. X90K.

I got an X90J on sale about a year ago and have had no issues with it. Won't get that pitch black contrast but it's good enough with auto local dimming. I'd recommend whatever it's successor is, X90K?

Depends on what size you are looking for. For larger definitely the X95L, for standard 65 inch the X93L (which is essentially a slightly updated X95K from last year) is again king this year, but I haven't seen it on a Amazon deal, seems to be a $1700 sale price at most places right now which is the lowest I have seen it. I already have a great functional high end 4k HDR Sony so I am in no rush, will wait and see what black Friday brings, or possibly a Best Buy open box.






IMO, OLED still isn't there, the A95L just won best TV again in the recent shootout, no surprise but once again, this is ideal cinema scene recreation in a dark room being tested. The price of the A95L is much higher than the X93L and although the brightness and color accuracy is much improved from other OLEDs I think it's hard to argue it's the best option for most use cases. Still has low APL compared to MLED and although we wait on full reviews many people have hinted that dimming and other burn-in protection measures that excisted in the A95K still exist. I've said it 100x on here, yes OLED is the best option for picture quality in a pitch black room, no arguing that, but once you bring life into the equation, day time viewing, windows, watching sports, playing games with HUDs the downsides of OLED come to light, and I find it hard to recommend OLED to anyone who isn't a basement dweller. Too much OLED cope in these forums for sure.X90L is a absolutely the best budget option but stepping up to the 93 is well worth it if you have the money. A 95/93 can be indistinguishable from OLED in many settings, a 90 isn't.

Bought mine 3 years ago. 93 didnt exist yet. Just 95 and wasnt available that time.

Wouldnt call it budget though cuz still pricey here. The 75-80 I consider budget. Lol. Best budget IMP would be the 85.

Sony just updated its firmware a few months ago. Seems like every yeah they have 2-3 updates which is cool.

You are right in the sense that Sony does have models under the 90. Just in terms of OP asking for an OLED replacement, it's definitely the 93/95 in terms of price range and picture quality.

My LG oled is still ****ed up and it's been pissng me off lately because when it ****s up I have to get up and pull the power from the wall to reset it.

And my game room in the TV is pissing me off too because i have to cycle inputs everytime I turn it on cause it just says no signal.

My ****in tvs annoy me dammit

I much prefer pedestal designs, but the 93L does have a narrow feet position.

I was supposed to get a 95 back then, but not available. And only 1 90H 65", so just bought that one. Reviews 3 years ago for the 90H were high and even said it is best for non-OLED gaming esp for the price. 95H was more for movies.

Not sure how the current models are.

Anyway there was also a Samsung alternative. Not sure of the model, cuz I once had a Samsung and it crapped on me after a couple of years(audio became distorted).

Sony actually make their products better with updates too. The X90J for a long while didnt support local dimming with VRR 120hz, but they released a firmware update and now it does which is a gamechanger because it looks pretty washed out without local dimming, and a lot of games support VRR these days so it was a gamechanging update

What's wrong with your CX? I've had mines since day 1 and it's been perfect.

I'm not convinced to drop OLED tbh, but I don't understand all the terminology. All I know is Fall/Winter means dark days, the time to OLEDMAXX is now.

The TV will freeze and shut off/go into a boot loop. It'll happen after like 10-20 minutes. Picture goes Grey or pink and freezes up.

For a while using the Xbox as my media center was fine but now even that is doing it from time to time, some days I can watch a movie no issue, some days it's freezing alot.

It's an issue common enough that I found multiple reddit threads about it and most people said it was the logic board that needs replacing, but given the price of the board and the time oout of my day to try to fix it, I'm just going to replace the tv. Im going to put the lg cx in my game room. At this point I don't care about burn in or anything so whatever so I'll just use it on my gaming pc til it just totally. My current game room tv is a 2014 Vizio p series so I'm due for an upgrade anyways


I also feel like my tv is not getting as bright as it used to but maybe that's in my head
