That's the most tragic thing. You don't choose where you're born. I think it makes it that much more pathetic for people who've essentially won the lottery and were born in the usa or even here, have all the opportunity in life, literally endless potential, and are still complaining and not making the most out of that supreme win. I can't even begin to imagine the harrowing experience of having a family over there and being constantly worried about them dying. That's like a living nightmare to me.

google says average age is 18, 65% under 24. Damn, didn't realize that. As an 18 y.o. in that situation I'd almost def join the military.

I'm mostly talking about basic quality of life improvements like clean running water, sewer services, reliable stable electricity, etc, economic opportunities could be part of what governments pursue for their citizens whether an individual seizes that opportunity or not

Plenty of people and even human rights organizations have criticized what Israel has done in the Gaza area for the last 75 years and I don't think there was a lack of empathy there, but that empathy is likely diminished now. I personally don't know enough about the situation but am sure it's pretty complex.
