I didn't kick her out. She left because she did not want to abide by the rules set by my wife and I. She wanted to go out and be free so that's on her. She was 18 and made her decision like an adult. I am not obligated to continue to support her. She had medical insurance provided to her by me and that's it. To be fair, I did hate her bf at the time. I married a woman with a daughter. I know miscers will chit on me for this but most of them are virgin incels so it doesn't bother me. As already mentioned, she had major issues because she's never known her biological father. Me never having kids myself and then coming into a small family was a major adjustment for me. I will be the first to admit I had no clue wtf I was doing at first. What I do know is I was nice to her and we all bonded together as a family. She has her issues from trauma that happened years before I was in the picture. That trauma is still present in her life as she continues to deal with that the best she can despite our efforts encouraging her to seek medical help.

So yes, the daddy issues were there. She was clingy and had this habit of licking my arms and fingers. We'd all be sitting together watching a movie and she would do this chit to me and her mom. It's gross and it was not sexual. I have no idea where OP gets this idea about her sitting on my lap in her underwear. That never happened. She was a volleyball player so she did wear her shorts around the house a lot plus thousands of other teenage girls. This is nothing new. I was not at a place at the time to support her monetarily outside of my house then so she got nothing from me except medical insurance. She left because she wanted to stay out late and come back at all hours in the morning. We didn't feel comfortable with not locking our front door with the deadbolt so she could come in. We had our newborn baby at the time and wanted to feel safe. Her coming in at all hours in the morning doesn't allow us to do that. We gave her the ultimatum and she chose to leave. Most parents would agree with not letting their petite daughter go out at all hours of the night and morning to party. It's simply not safe. OP must be progressive or something. I don't agree with that lifestyle. I will admit I was irrational in that post not because I forced her to make a decision between me or her bf then. That never happened. I grew up poor and know what it is like to struggle. It's incredibly stressful and breaks your spirit. She suffered for 2 years before becoming stable financially and it of course, includes a another guy. She needs to be in a relationship where they share the cost or else she can't survive on her own. Her mother and I didn't want her to rely on dudes in order to live a decent life. Hence why we wanted her home to finish college, save money, and then move out. Luckily for her, this dude is her fiance so it all worked out.

Now, on to the present day. My daughter is happy and engaged to a good dude. They visit us bi-monthly because they live 4 hours away. We are going to move to her city because she wants us all to be together as one big family and wants us to be near her to help her with her first baby in 2 years. She changed her last name to match mine because in her eyes, I'm Dad, not stepdad. This was her choice, not mine. All of this is unnecessary but since you were nice in the way you ask, I obliged.
