Coming back to the Egypt shark attack story every now and then

What a brutal way to go.

One second you're on a family holiday, swimming peacefully and enjoying the nice weather. Next thing you see is a giant shark grabbing a hold of your limb. You're just 23. Whole life was supposed to be ahead of you. Fear & dread fills your every part of your body. The second chomp comes and takes your leg off. You yell out "papaaa, papaaa" but you know nobody is going to come and save you. You start getting light-headed and know this is the end. Nothing can save you at this point. The last chomp takes off half your neck as you fall into nothingness.

Brutal, savage, damn nature you scary

I remember reading about that, the stupid thing was the year prior to that. 2 women were eaten alive by a shark about 500m down the coast from that location and they never got the shark. Why the f would you go in that water is beyond me.

I try not to swim in bodies of water where I know there exist many beasts that would gladly take me out.

Ionizing radiation. You slowly turn into a zombie and your entire body becomes a danger to everyone else around you. I'd rather be eaten by a shark and go out fighting like a man, srs. With a shark there is a tiny chance of survival. You can fight or you can try to escape, but there is no running away from your own body when the cells are dying within you, until the pain becomes unbearable. Of course, I wouldn't want to experience either of those things, lol.

This reminds me, am I right in thinking there was a guy who was one of the first responders at Chernobyl, who got radiation poisoning, obviously he got big sick and he kept pleading to die but they kept him alive? Brutal.

There were a number of first responders with severe cases. You might be thinking of Vasily Ignatenko. In the mini-series he is heard screaming, but according to his wife Lyudmilla, he never screamed or begged for death. Dude was extremely patient. Not sure about the hospital keeping him alive. The one who was kept alive by his family was Hisashi Ouchi. But that's a totally different event.

False. You got zero chance fighting off a shark that wants to chow down on your ass in its own environment. The most you can do is maybe gouge its eyes or gills out of spite. On land its a different story, at least you can climb a tree or whatever to escape a predator( although in most cases you will still get fukked up) In either case, if there is no other option fight to your last breath

You statistically have a 5000x greater chance of dying anytime you get in your car than you do skydiving. Probably higher for you considering you drive a chit box Nissan

Being human rocks. Miscers forget that we don't need a lot of speed or strength to conquer the animal kingdom. I watched a webm of some dude dominating a chitbull by pinning it to the ground with his body weight and keeping it's mouth shut with his hands. Physics doesn't care how powerful a beast is, it's getting rekt if you apply the right amount of force in the right area.

Went to Sharm el sheik when I was 20 now I’m now 34.

Even at 20 years old and by myself and shark el sheik …. Even somehow I knew that it was too risky to go swimming in the sea in case of a shark attack …. And so I didn’t go in

If you wanna swimming holiday Go to the Mediterranean Or somewhere like Thailand

yeah that's why I don't go out in the ocean past like chest height at maximum. I know sharks can attack in shallows too but I still feel like my chance of survival is higher closer to shore vs bobbing out there like a dink
