Cyber Sec
~$115k + bonuses + OT (expecting to gross $160k+ this year)
7/10 - it's WFH, I'm mostly good at it, teammates are mostly great. Most days usually go as expected, there's down time even on the busy days. But the nature of cyber sec is the pressure can go from 0 -> 100 quickly demanding big meetings with legal and VPs, have had to present on stage at conferences which is rewarding but anxiety inducing. I get good benefits (401k match, lots of days off), but so does rest of team, and team is relatively small, so taking days off sometimes feels a little restricting. Boss gives me some of the harder responsibilities.

Construction Project Manager for telecom company
~110k, cover expenses/trips and pays federal rate for miles
So, so. Pretty high stress but I’ve learned to deal with it now. I wfh but visit the cities we’re building in a couple times a month. A lot of conference calls and putting out fires
I miss having an office to visit every now and then to socialize and spitball ideas and stories

base salary $140k. With field bonus I'll make about $180k
Like the work, but hate the stress. We make blowout preventers, so if it doesn't fire when it's supposed to - Deepwater Horizon 2.0. If it fires when it's not supposed to, it's a complete rebuild plus possibly screwing up the well if they were drilling at the time.

Attorney
Somewhere between 220k-350k this year (srs, wide range but it depends on a few things between now and end of year)
I hate some morons at my office in management roles, but otherwise love my job and only work about 30hrs/week

Also went to tier 3 on scholly with little loans. My situation is NOT typical for attorneybrahs...

Overall it's stressful but that's only because I legit care about my clients, so I'd give like a 7.5/10 happiness with it. If my firm would ditch an old-head or two it would be much higher.

I'm just trolling, I did flip the burgers though when I was 16 and it was a great job at the time. Happiness was high back then and genuinely did meet beautiful women every day

I love the job. Fully remote, delivery based salary, bosses are super cool.
It allows me to be a stay at home mom while still paying the bills so I dig it

$90,000 this year and it goes up a little every year.

When I finish my doctorate, hopefully next year, it goes up a pretty good bit from that also.

R&D, strategy, roadmapping. My entire job consists of calls.

Your project manager should know exactly what is going on at all times, its literally his job to set timelines & monitor completion of tasks.

Operations supervisor (finally in a leadership role and climbed first step in corporate ladder). Previously design engineer and construction rep in same industry

When I started in my previous engineering role was 60k base and 5% target bonus (so 63k).

When I left in 2022 I was at like 95k base and 5% target bonus (so about 99k)

In my current role I’m at 129k base and 12% target bonus (so about 144 in comp)

6-7/10. Some days are really chill and some are beyond stressful
