In my area, a nanny is $15-35/hr. Assuming $25/hr, that's $52k assuming 2080 hours a year. As long as the wife makes "considerably more" than $52k/yr post-tax, it's good.

I think a tone that is implied by the OP is that: wives don't want to work. However, the GF I'm with wants to careermax, to leverage her arduous and expensive education to highest potentials possible, to do something with her life that is above and beyond than just being a mother. Granted, she says this (and is demonstrating efforts for this) now, while childless.

Any woman that her purpose is working as opposed to raising her kids and being there for them/at home, is highly masculine. And prostitutes can be mothers as well that doesnt mean its a good idea to wife them.

If you are highly feminine, then yeah you can find a highly masculine woman attractive. At the end of the day its your choice

Imagine having kids only to stick them in daycare and be raised by crayon haired sloots with nose rings and tattoos just so your wife can fulfil her "passion" of working in account payable aka get an ego boost from flirting with corporate cucks while waiting for their hotpockets to microwave.

The way society is now, the traditional gender roles and nuclear family is destroyed. You're pretty much playing with fire if you wife up and start a family with any modern woman.

A lot of what we do and who we are is based on meeting other people's expectations. My wife came from a family with divorced parents and a mom who worked and assumed she would always need to work. My mom was a homemaker. When we started getting serious dating, I told her I was looking for someone who wanted to be a mom. When given the choice, she was all for it. She was several months pregnant when she walked for college graduation and has never held a job outside the home since our first was born. I still think having an education (maybe college, maybe something else) is valuable for a woman. I don't want a dummy raising my kids and the more decisions you can trust your wife to make the better. Doesn't work for everyone, for various reasons, but it's worked well for us. I'm not rich (more than 100k, less than 150k, so far anyway), but we have 5 kids and have always been able to meet their needs and have a pretty comfortable life.

OP is right.

Having your place ready, making the dough, and being the bread winner puts you in a deep psychological advantage and keeps your woman in your frame. Always out-earn her and sit on your own property. Her job should be to make sure the castle is taken care of. When she moves in, she is in your frame. That’s my set up and it is the guide to a happy life.

Love being a mom and raising my kids but I wanted to contribute more. I raised 2 girls and worked 32 hrs a week. I was able to balance both, keep up with all household stuff and no one ever complained. It worked out fine.

It's not a one size fits all...you need to do what's best for your family.
