Most overrated bands/music artists of all time

Some of these can be decent bands, but just overrated. Some just downright suck and were always way overhyped from day one.

Van Halen is the GOAT. David Lee Roth, great songs. Sammy Hagar, great songs. That other guy, good songs. Metallica were amazing until after the black album, after that they suck.


Basically agree with everything else on the list, but how could you omit Coldplay? Holy fhuck, Coldplay are insufferably annoying douchebags. Even their name sucks. WTF does Coldplay even mean?

I could never stand the constant, signature high pitched "AAAAAH!!!!!" yelps in Van Halen vocals. That alone was enough to ruin any potential I might have had to enjoy their music. Just my 2 cents, to each their own.

As far as Coldplay goes, they were so awful and overrated that I didn't even remember them when making the list. But yes, they could absolutely be on the list.

Less famous: Greenday and Guns N' Roses are wildly overrated. Even less famous and stupidly overrated by music incels is Dream Theater.

Bands that still technically still exist but have long departed from their former selves in membership are in a different category really. Pink Floyd technically still exists but... just no.

Led Zeppelin. They just always sound so sloppy. Live and even studio. Page was ok on an acoustic but man his electric riffs sound retarded. Plant is shrill and annoying. JPJ was the best part of the band. Bonham was dope too, but also overrated as a musician.

Stealing all that music and not giving credit. Constantly getting called the "greatest ever" when they always sounded like a drugged out version of superior bands from the same era. IDK, could never get into them or the hype. Went in with really high expectations and was disappointed every song, every album.
