Anyone here used to watch sports but stopped?

Did you used and stopped, why?

For me it was a combo of all the left wing propaganda (2020 blm plastered everywhere). Stopped watching the second I saw posters or people taking the knee.

Also just getting older, maybe.

Realising its meaningless to get excited or upset about something that I can't control, played by people who don't care about me? If that makes sense.

I had this exact conversation last week with someone. It was always a fun hobby and I followed the games that I played (baseball and basketball) whatever I could, and I was even a season ticket holder at one point (sold most games to basically go for free whenever I wanted).

But I slowly just stopped watching or caring more and more. The whole kneeling and BLM garbage completely killed it for me. I watch zero sports now and just pick up enough of what's going on from others to be able to be in a conversation if it comes up.

It's a shame, as it can be fun entertainment, but I'm more about expanding my businesses and learning new things in my spare time now. Plus, I try not to give money to industries that seem to be fighting against my ideals.

just became boring to keep up and to watch millionaires play kid games. a lot of artificial drama around it too. when you've been around long enough you just see players come and go

I used to love watching and following MLB, NBA, NFL and did so until my mid 20's. Somewhere in the mid 2010's I slowly stopped caring, and by the time the BLM and race pandering garbage started up, I was done. Don't follow any of it.

I do like watching non-team sports: tennis, golf, F1, UFC

Used to watch NFL, NBA, EPL (soccer).

NBA rules chokeholded the game so I stopped watching. The BLM and political stuff ruined everything so from 2020 on I didn't watch any sports. Stop doing fantasy football with the bros lol.

Last year I started watching the EPL again for Arsenal. The only sport I watch now is soccer and sometimes Jokic dominate the NBA if the nuggets are on tv.

used to love sports but they drove me away with their agendas.

Cant just act like I didnt see them kneeling and all that. being a white male they pretty much let me know they dont want me as a fan.

They have done nothing to earn back our trust, They just hope we forget about it.

Yeah I really stopped caring. They got too big on the political activism and messages, I usually watched sports for escapism from that.

I'd just record games so I could fast forward the ads.

BLM made me lose all interest but I had gotten away from actively watching sports long before that.

I went from NFL season ticket holder in my 20s to barely caring in my 30s. Just got into more active hobbies. Sports fans are just couch potatoes of a different flavor.

Never, but I really want to. Have wanted to for years, would love to get passionate about a sports team and have that excitement and camaraderie.

Yep All Black supporter here for tomorrows RWC final vs the Boks.

Going to be a hell of a game for sure. Most americans are missing out as AB vs Springbok games are usually always classics especially with this much on the line.

Thats basically the only sport I watch and a bit of UFC. To the best of my knowledge I never saw NZ rugby take a knee or push any of that bullchit hardout like the NZ cricket team and the rest. Even though there are/were some woke fkers in the team I know that for sure they've kept quiet atleast.

The worst woke fkwit that was in the AB's was TJ peranara but he's gone and too old/out of form so they havent been to bad and Ardie Savea has been very quiet about it the last couple years.

I stopped many years ago caring about anything other than world championships e.g. soccer world cup. Am now embracing the whole 'Sportsball' ethic.

yeah used to watch heaps as a kid and early 20s when i looked up to the players but as i became older than the players i started looking down on them as overcelebrated spoiled brats who are actually fcking soft a lot of the time.

now i have a lot more respect for and interest in actual military fighting wars (even if i don't agree with what they're fighting for) i still get into the strategy, tactics and straight hard nut insane bravery of those guys.

Got anti gun and to much politics. Plus all the gay colors and pieces of flair they wore for charitys.
Friday night. Date night in Miami. Every night is a date night in Miami, and everyone's having sex. But for me, sex never enters into it. I don't understand sex. Not that I have anything against women, and I certainly have an appropriate sensibility about men, but when it comes to the actual act of sex, it's always just seemed so undignified. But I have to play the game.
