Breaking Free From Addiction Today - Christ Way and Support

I believe the true way to find freedom is not taking medication, joining a 21 step program or abstinence

but turning from the World and Trusting Jesus Christ in simple faith in his finished work of Salvation on the Cross, believing and obeying his word.

This is geared to porn addiction but I believe anyone here can break any addiction (cigarettes, alcohol, swearing, etc) today, starting right now.

This is no joke but I have been a porn/masturbation addict for many years and have abstained as long as 1 year but porn seem to slip in and I would get back into the habit.

One day, I had enough of it and truly repented and not only for myself but the sins of my parents and family.

I finally understood the revealed truth of certain Bible verses and I've been completely free from looking at ANY PORNOGRAPHY or doing the act of Masturbation for the last two and a half months
and I have ZERO Interest in going back.

Even though I've been completely free, Every morning I constantly pray for family, friends, world issues, forgive people and repent daily of any sin offenses knowingly, unknowingly and give my burdens to Christ"

This is a Christian point of view where I will be quoting Bible verses, explaining them and overview at the end.

If you are not a Believer, this will not make any sense to you until you stop relying on man's wisdom, religion or your own good works

and turn to The Lord Jesus Christ, trusting him alone for salvation.

[Take hold of The Sword of The Spirit, which is the Word of God]

The Armor of God

Ephesians 6:11-18

"Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood,

but against principalities, against powers,

against the rulers of the darkness of this world,

against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God,

that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;

And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;

Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.

And take the helmet of salvation,

and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit,

and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;"

This is the blue print in overcoming any addiction.

You have to understand were in a spiritual warfare right now and people are losing everyday because they don't even have all the proper gear on.

If you don't take the time to pray in the morning, you've already lost half the battle and the slightest temptation will always get you.. Every time!

[The guilt of past sin, forgiveness and a new life]

Hebrews 8:12

"For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness,

and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more."

Hebrews 10:17

"And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more."

Isaiah 43:25

"I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins."

Isaiah 1:18

"Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet,

they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool."

Hebrews 10:16-17

"This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord,

I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them;

And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more."

2 Corinthians 5:17

"Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature:

old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new."

What is the bottom line here. If you truly repent from sin, God forgives you through the shed blood of Jesus Christ.

In God's account of your history, you have been forgiven from all guilt and your sin never happened.

What ever happened in your past memory, you can go back to that event and say to it,

I'm free because of The Power of the Blood of Christ, I've been forgiven and this no longer has power over me because this never happened.

A Day with Our Lord

2 PETER 3:8-9

But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance."

To our Lord Jesus Christ, time is changeable and almost has no meaning.

If we take this concept in our life, 1 day free from addiction can mean to 2 weeks free from it.

2 days free can mean 2 months free, you determine it based on your belief.

To summarize: 1. Put the Armor of God 2. Because of Christ forgiveness, This event never happened 3. You determine how long you have been free.

But this entire post will be all for nothing if you don't have a personal relationship with Christ

Romans 6:23

"For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."

1. Admit that you are a sinner and can't save yourself

Romans 10:9-10

"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."

2. Believe in the Death, Burial and Resurrection of The Lord Jesus Christ

Ephesians 2:8-9

"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast."

3. No longer depend on religion, or Good works but Put your full faith and Trust in Christ for your Salvation alone

John 14:15

“If ye love me, keep my commandments.”

Matthew 7:22-24

"Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:"

4. Read his word and obey his commandments

Philippians 4:8

"Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true,

whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just,

whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely,

whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue,

and if there be any praise, think on these things."

Romans 8:5-6

"For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.

For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

Romans 12:2

"And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind,

that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

I want to give God the Glory and Praise for the truth revealed to us and I'm happy to report

I'm still completely free from the Act of Habitual Masturbation since the creation of this thread about 6 months ago

and anybody can start today, right now if you're willing to change your mind, act in faith and believe his word.

The only problem is human weakness of not remembering his word where the enemy entices to step back into the darkness of lust through his agents in the media or those influenced by it

which I'm 100% admit I'm guilty of with all the stress and distractions in life but with this truth we know now, the time in darkness in sin is minimized and

with his grace, mercy, and forgiveness with us in repentance, we are made right through his blood.

I pray for all and bless those who consider this thread and decide to make the decision for Christ to step from the world of darkness into the light of his word.
