No, and won't be approaching women for probably at least 6-8 weeks (see below).

I just got back home from my travels to get rhinoplasty. I believe the surgeon did a fantastic job.

BEFORE:

AFTERsplint was removed - taken7days post-op. Feel free to ignore the bacitracin hanging from my columella, the high level of swelling, the blood, the bruising under the eye, and the wet look to the nose:

The key changes to me are:
- Dorsal hump reduction
- Correction of a highly deviated septum (I'm very impressed with how straight my septum is now - I intend to share frontal pictures of my nose within a few months).
- Correction of a drooping nasal tip (i.e., nasal tip drooped when smiling)
- Tip refinement (I had a bulbous tip preoperatively)
- Nasal tip deprojection (my nose isn't as long)
- Thinning of the nose (this is not possible to see now with how bad the swelling is, but should show itself as time goes on)

I have another appointment with the surgeon in 2 months to see how much the swelling has reduced and likely get a steroid injection in my nose to hasten the reduction in swelling. I can start exercising normally in about a week. The protocol to follow is lengthy, but manageable. I have to wait another 6 weeks until I can start Tretinoin 0.05%, exfoliating, etc. I can only use a cleanser and moisturizer in the meantime.

I get where you're coming from, but I felt like a change to my nose was warranted. Dare I say it was the humane thing to do? My nose was very distracting. It isn't going to beperfectnow (I don't know the final result of course), but it shouldn't be distracting. I think if you compare my side profile before and after (I just took this and I'm 11 days post-op) then you'll agree it's a positive change. I think I was accidentally pulling my top lip in the photo below. The front looks better than it did a few days ago, but it's going to be swollen for quite a while. Doing the best I can to take good care of myself.

This is my first post on this website. Been a member for several years and never felt compelled to comment.

OP and this thread have jumped the shark. Now he's cutting and chopping his body. This has gone too far. I'm disgusted at what I've seen. Dude needs serious help before something serious happens that makes the nightly news.

That's very extreme. Also, cutting and chopping my body? I got a nose job. It's just my face I've gotten work on. I'll be fine.

You're going to be proud of me: I am writing this while I have contacts in. I passed the class earlier today, but all they gave is a single left eye and single right eye. They're bi-weeklies. I don't understand, but whatever. I have to wait for them to order dailies and then go back and put them on and see how they fit. Putting the contacts in is hard for me, especially right eye. Taking them out isn't too bad. I want to see how wearing contacts is (such as if it gives me watery eyes, red eyes, etc.).

Edit: Wearing contacts and looking at a screen is a no-go for me. Will have to suspend my glasses with that silly apparatus when I'm home. Wearing contacts to the gym. Looking into getting contacts that have similar anti blue light properties to those found in glasses.

I would suggest building more of a rapport with gym girls to get an understanding of what their situation is before you ask for their number. If you become friendly after a number of interactions and have probably by that time heard something about whether they have a boyfriend or not, your odds of being labeled the creep who shoots his shot with all the girls at the gym should be substantially diminished. Wandering around the mall asking girls for their numbers is a bit odd (especially when you say you want a relationship but are hitting on girls with "their asses hanging out"). If they won't give you their number, I honestly wouldn't even ask for their IG. They almost certainly only want followers and have no intention of actually interacting with you in DMs.

You don't need to wait until you have a car to start checking out bars, etc. Get an Uber. In those circumstances, you're less likely to have to field questions about not having a car given that it will be assumed you are being responsible by taking an Uber back and forth to someplace where you'll be drinking.

Totally agree with you and that's what I'll try to do in the majority of gym situations. For example, I've smiled and waved to a young woman and got her name once. I didn't give off any pressure or make it seem like I need to get her number as soon as possible. I'm not super interested in her, so maybe that's part of it, but I am taking a bit more of a relaxed approach. Also, my nose is changing in these early stages from week to week. Today was my first day back at the gym and I was able to see a workout buddy and he and I worked out together. It was a solid workout. I'm down from 163 lbs to 157 lbs. I think I lost some muscle from not lifting for 3 weeks. No plans to go to the mall yet, but may try the same approaches starting toward the end of the year.

I want to get a car, but still think I should wait. Yeah, I can Uber to a bar. I won't drink, but going solo? Idk. I think I need to wait more. My uncle's friend said he's willing taking me out to meet women when I'm ready. May take him up on that. Tretinoin starts at the end of next month and my nose is swollen, so going to give dating some rest.

You may be better off trying to get younger male gym acquaintances or someone like that to go out to the bar with you. I'd be cautious about an uncle's friend. Having a boomer wingman may seem very weird and be totally unproductive.

Dailies might be more comfortable, they're usually softer vs. the longer term ones. Putting them in gets easier over time.

Thanks, my side profile is certainly much better. After taking the splint off, I thought I was terrible from the front view, but the swelling will continue to reduce. Getting rid of my deviated septum is wild and much needed. The physician assistant had me sign a form that allowed my surgeon to have a student witness my surgery. Not sure how common that is, but maybe my surgeon wanted to show how he can transform such an unsightly nose into something natural and normal looking. I disliked my nose.

My uncle and his friend are only ~9-10 years older than I am. My uncle's friend is pretty charismatic and people tend to gravitate toward him. His job is very people oriented. Only gone out with 1 person outside of the gym so far. Maybe that will change.

I see (no pun intended). I am somewhat at peace because I can take my time at home when putting them in and taking them off. I can't wear them and look at a computer monitor. I'm going to look into the anti blue light contacts and colored contacts. It would be fun to wear realistic blue, green, etc. colored eyes.

very good result from rhinoplasty

As for the daillies, some brands feel better than others. some even have better oxygen transmissibility versus others, but it's been a while since i've looked into the specs for all the brands

Thanks, UberBrah. I hope to start going out again hopefully before the year ends. Practice helps a lot.

Today I had to put contacts in so I could ride my bike to the gym. I put my right contact in by looking directly at the contact. First time I've done that, but I know the accuracy using that technique is very high compared to looking away. Felt good. How's that for progress?

I'm a huge fan of following protocol.

Thank you. My surgeon seems delighted and I'm looking forward to seeing him toward the end of next month for my 2 month check in.

I'll be seeing my eye doctor soon when my trial of dailies comes in. Going to ask about colored contacts and see if I can get their best feeling stuff. I am using glasses (nose pads removed) at home, just with an apparatus that allows me to not have them rest on my nose. I prefer glasses at home since they help me when viewing a computer monitor.
