As the newer generations become more and more feminine, submissive and low T, they will naturally be drawn toward cute little animals and childish, easy games, so yes as time goes on I expect Nintendo to become the king of hardware sales.

PS2s were selling the dirt cheap slims well after the $600 PS3 came out. It was also a somewhat cheap way to enter the DVD space.

Dreamcast only existed for like 10 months of the PS2 life as well.

Because gameplay is king.

Normal people don't care about 8k HDR ray tracing walking simulators. They just want to jump on some goombas or slice some moblins.

you guys remember how expensive dvd players were when they came out?

the ps2 was a bargain dvd player + video game console. that contributed to a lot of sales from people who didn't even play games.

i also remember being a kid and getting a dvd burner 2x write speeds (slow as fuk boi) during black friday at Fry's Electronics for $99.. it was a STEAL for that time.

it will absolutely be impressive if any console outsells the PS2 because consoles are not entertainment centers like the PS2 was... because everyone has a chromecast/smart tv that can do everything entertainment wise a console can do and faster with no boot up from a third party device.

It's going to be a close one but the switch has a good chance of beating the PSDVD player.
