Indians are unironically very good at speaking English.
The big STEMmaxxer states in India require teaching in English from 1st grade on up, and I believe university classes are taught in English. So these guys have damn near a lifetime of speaking and writing in English before they get hired or imported.
In addition, the Indian language families are freakishly close to Greek and Latin by an accident of history, so most of the sounds in the language are pronounced the same.
You will see this if you try watching a couple Youtube videos of hardcore STEMmaxxer stuff. Indians will start speaking in their mother tongue, and it sounds close enough to English and there's enough English loan words that you don't even realize they switched on you.
Eg
Chinese are a disaster at speaking at speaking English. They don't even try learning it until college, when they figure they have good odds of being imported, and it is STARKLY removed from their language. They get the crash course but sort of crash and burn.
