Nietzsche master vs slave morality explains basically everything in our world

This really explains basically everything in our world:

https://atlasgeographica.com/nietzsc...ity-explained/

One side values strength, building, developing, etc.

The other side values weakness, laziness, etc.

Neitzche throws morality around in his writings, but he's actually referring to aesthetics.

He deconstructs morality and asserts it's non-existance.

Then he just turns right around and explains all of these things you should do and be like in your life. It's horse****.

He's explaining what he likes and has already argued your freedom to ****can anything he will ever say on the matter. It's a mess, and it might behoove you to disregard it.

Western civilization was built on slave morality (christianity). Nietzche just liked a weird niche of greek aristocrats and italian painters and thought of that as a kind of pinnacle of humanity

according to him western civilization was built on endless torture and brutality necessary to tame man into a docile creature fit for civility, molded by aristocratic classes

strength of will, love of life, and rejection of all nihilism is the foundation of his philosophy. Christian rejection of this life for the next is nihilism at its core.

its a shame pseudo intellectuals reject his works immediately, bro was a G fo sho.

I don't reject his work at all, love most of it. But his most important contribution to the history of thought IMO is in pointing out the implications of the death of god.

And he did fetishize certain art forms (greek tragedy before Euripides; and he shared the obsession that many had and still have about the italian renaissance) and had a weird antipathy towards anything resembling christianity

Christianity, and other major religions, are the only solutions to the problem of nihilism that have worked at a large scale.

I think he would argue that institutions like the Church are examples of master morality vs a herd of weak slaves. The roman empire in disguise.

I think a part of the rejection is that a lot of his work actually deals more with psychology, whilst in flamboyant language. His peers are more Freud and Jung in my opinion (who both seem to have appreciated his work), rather than Kant and Schopenhauer. His whole conception of the Apollonian and Dionysian can be seen as a precursor to psychoanalysis.

I would think of pre-christian roman empire as "master morality" and once christianity took hold that's the slave morality infecting minds and ultimately displacing the old morality. The church is just an institution reinforcing slave morality and spreading it further.

Basing this on "On the Genealogy of Morality" and it's a long time since I read it
