What gets me is the anti-climatic result of accomplishment. So you work hard to get somewhere, or something, and the whole journey you are anticipating this great moment but when that moment comes it's almost like you skip it and just go to the "well, that's that, now what" phase.
Relate to HS. Freshman you thought it would be so awesome to be a Senior, but once you become a Senior it's all just added pressure and you think graduation is going to be so amazing but instead it's just bitter sweet and any joy is overshadowed by your next goal.
Since we are talking about careers here, I thought that once I had all the training and certs I would feel GOAT, and then I got a job that I never thought I could get, and that just turned into more pressure.

Yeah I get it. I just like saving and investing money. All my chit is paid off but put in 70 hours of OT over the past 7 days. Its brutal and barely functioning lol. But it's going to be a nice paycheck. I've been on 2 major outages from hit natural gas pipelines. The current one I'm on left over 100k people without heat or hot water in Washington state.

Work is not what finds you happiness.
You find a job that you can enjoy to some degree, some sort of project to keep you decently happy. Happiness comes from what you do outside of work though. Find a good job that will help you live the lifestyle you want to live outside of work. A lot of the time, that means a stable life financially, with enough savings to withstand surprise emergencies and to feel good about retiring one day. Find a partner, have kids, and enjoy.
You find a job that you can enjoy to some degree, some sort of project to keep you decently happy. Happiness comes from what you do outside of work though.
