Tried swinging in college with a gf at the time......really just wanted to bang other girls.

wouldn't recommend it with someone you actually like.

Fronted an alt rock/punk band for a decade and have also fronted a Green Day tribute band. What do you want to know?

Like anything else, it takes practice. Think of it as lifting for your voice, you still have to develop skills and technique.

What are some good practices you could recommend for me? Lately I’ve been plucking every note on the guitar and matching the pitch. I actually got pretty good pitch when I do that but I’m work my way up on the scale basically have no head voice but I can get out same taaaass on like c5 maybe close to d5s head voice and can do things like hey y’all like that one outcast song

First thing is to find your useable range. There are lots of web sites that can help you with that, and once you know that it allows you to pinpoint songs and singers that suit your voice. For example, I'm a mezzo soprano which is on the higher end and can also do a good falsetto, but I have terrible low end range. So singers like Ed Sheeran, Bruno Mars, Thom Yorke, etc are all within my range.

Second thing is having drills and knowing how to warm up and work your voice, because it's a muscle like anything else. Again, stuff you can easily find on youtube or other online places. There's even an app called Yousician that you can use to train your voice. Being able to go from head voice to chest voice and back again plus having a well trained diaphragm are also important.

Say, ˹O believers,˺ We believe in Allah and what has been revealed to us; and what was revealed to Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, and his descendants; what was given to Moses, Jesus, and other prophets from their Lord. We make no distinction between any of them. And to Allah we all submit.

Howdy bhicks....

I hear you.
I do the singing on all my material but that's what I have to work with.
Even after 45 years of writing/recording, I've always had a confidence issue even though I'm no crooner by any stretch and just rock kinda guy.

I'd suggest checking out some vocal coaching videos.
There has to be one that would work for your purpose or cater to the genre you gravitate to.
