The only way Brandon won't be the nominee is if he croaks.

That said, I actually think Newsom would have issues in the rust belt.

Doubtful. He survived the recall, sure, but there was a recall in the first place. Half of liberal paradise California doesn't like him, I doubt the rest of America will.

Gavin is a concern. As it stands, Trump would defeat Biden in an electoral landslide. He is leading the popular vote in virtually every national survey now. Biden is toast.

If the party forces Biden to drop out and Newsom snakes his way onto the ballot, it seems like the election will be much closer. You’d have a young, slick talking politician against a 77 year old man indicted on 90+ felonies. That’s not a good contrast. On paper. There is some good news, however. In the limited polling released so far, Trump STILL beats Newsom. People may not be into some California douche bag who wrecked his state with bad policy.

https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/n...ced-biden-poll

So even if they pull the Gavin card, we still have a chance to take our country back. I firmly believe the ONLY way Trump does not take the oath of office on January 20, 2025 is if they literally put him in prison, and sadly that probably what they intend to do.

I said this when he was on Bill Maher's show many years ago.

Newsom is being set up for 2028. The current dumpster fire that is California is all he has to show for and he would be destroyed by Trump.

He's the poster boy for everything wrong with the democratic party, starting with hypocrisy. People might hate Hilary, but she did have a positive association on the national scale. The biggest issue Newsome faced, he completely flubbed. Not a national candidate at all, his COVID policies could have been seen as a positive if he wasn't such a hypocrite. He simply cannot trot out his leadership after the French Laundry incident and then the subsequent recall attempt. It will be Kamala before Newsome, even if she is also hated she doesn't have a fukkup everyone can point to.

God, I can't imagine people from middle America voting for Gavin Newsome. Biden needed some purple states to win, and those states ain't voting for a California liberal who has ruined his state.

Yes, most people don't vote on real facts any longer, they vote based on other silly reasons.
This is not 2008 any longer......

We have recent proof of this fact.

I think there is a very good chance they will run him. They know Biden is not popular and need someone new. If Biden runs again it is incumbent vs incumbent and when comparing the two Trump performed way better.

Newsom did a trip to China to visit Xi and is now hosting Xi in San Francisco. Meeting with leaders of other countries is one of those things that politicians do to make themselves look like they are also global leaders in the eyes of the public.

I believe Newsom is going to debate Desantis who is also running for presidential nomination. These aren't things you do just for chits and giggles as a politician, especially in an election year.

I disagree. He is an excellent politician. That is not necessarily a compliment, rather a pragmatic observation. Politicians need to be excellent bullchitters and he is fantastic at it. He is like Obama. His policies were terrible, but he was an phenomenal orator. Smooth talking goes a long way in convincing the public.

I disagree. Its not the smooth talking or bull****ting that convinces the public. Its the media. Gavin could be the exact person he has always been and he would be blown the **** out of the water if the propaganda machine told the truth about his policies.

Obama was a blank slate, nothing to pin against him. Being that he was both young and inexperienced, people placed their own idea of what they hoped would happen in him. Gavin is none of this. He is a known quantity, he's full of chit, and a liberal from the infected boil known as San Francisco.

And what were the final results percentage wise of the recall? Something like 2/3 voted to keep him IIRC.

I'm just saying watch out for him. Compared to Biden his speaking skills are off the charts. There was a reason they kept Biden in the basement. They can't do that again.

Watch interviews with Newsom. He speaks well and that goes a long way.

Watch his interview with Hannity from earlier this year. He doesn't have to be right in the chit he says, he just has to be convincing, and he certainly has a slick way of talking.

I don't disagree. The issue is Biden is awful and everyone knows it. They can't cover for him anymore. They need someone new now because they have seen internal polling and Biden aint it.

I have zero idea why the Dems think running Biden again is in any way a good idea. They should have started grooming his replacement a year ago and be establishing that person as the nominee now.

He has that "silver fox" look that makes older women horny. He is a truly terrible person, but since women operate on "feels" that alone gives him an edge over Biden.
