The only reason I lay some blame on the driver is because she was coming up behind for a good 8 seconds or so with nothing else obstructing the driver's rear vision IIRC.

If he looked into his rear view mirror at any time in those 8 seconds, he would have seen her speeding up and should have just waited before merging. She was definitely going too fast but still, I would have just waited before merging if it were me.
Back off, Warchild.

Usually in these videos the motorbike rider does something stupid, but in this case it was the fricking car driver just changing lanes without looking. Hopefully they got some charges for that, and the girl is lucky AF. Bail at 127mph on a bike and you can walk away? Holy chit.
What a stupid statement. Rider is 100% at fault.

I occasionally see cars driving like that on the highway after work. I pray they roll their car every time I see it.

She isn't blameless, though.
There is no ****ing debate. Someone going 127 will throw anyone off who looks in their rear view mirror. She was also weaving in and out of lanes. That's literally reckless driving. What the fuk is there to debate?

Is she was driving like a normal speeder going 80, maybe near 90, there would be sufficient time to react. She was going way faster than that.

8 seconds ago, she would have been far enough away to make that lane change under normal circumstances. Do you expect the person in the car to watch their mirror for 8 seconds and take their eyes off the road the whole time?

That is not what her insurance provider is going to say. This is an open and shut case for the car drive.

No, I'm not expecting someone to watch their mirror for 8 seconds. I'm saying she had 8 seconds of being in that lane with nothing in front of her obstructing the view of the car driver. Even if he had have just flicked a quick view in the rear view, I can't see how he couldn't see her. If she switched into the lane right before the crash, definitely easy to see how he didn't see her.

But she had the lane to herself --at least ahead of her-- for 8 seconds before crashing. I just think the car driver could have seen her even she was speeding. I don't think the driver indicated either.

Anyway, looks like I've taken the "not cool" opinion ITT so I'll bow out now.

People who do that get painted all over the road regularly and she's lucky to be alive. That is 100% the fault of the reckless idiot speeding through traffic at highly illegal speed. In fact, now that the video has surfaced she should be charged with dangerous driving and have her license taken away.

Anyone who gives this person money for anything is a moron.

JFL at the posters claiming the car should have seen her in the mirrors.

130 mph is effectively a blur to someone going 70 mph - especially in the whole 5 inches of rear view or side mirrors these super heroes are claiming they'd have seen the rider in...You're talking a 100% difference in speed

SolowIQ everywhere. I say this as a rider of 15 years over 3 bikes: That bish should have been dead years ago.

The other cars are allowed to change lanes, this is why they should stick to race tracks at those speeds.

Just Bohdy being low IQ then. Sad!

Doods quoting 8 seconds like its no thing. The issue with a 130 mph speed is that 8 seconds away is 1520~ feet away (IE damn near a quarter mile) away. If she looks at the 0 sec mark (of 8 seconds), the rider isn't even in ****ing view. Just lol if you think you're seeing something a quarter mile away going 130 in 5 inches of mirror - ****ing nope.

8 seconds later the bikes hitting the car. Whats the hope in hell - that the car checks it at the 4 sec mark and gets lucky?!

JFL - entirely on the rider. She deserved to eat ****.

surprised it got closed.

typically motorcycle accident with a single party, if EMS was called, police get called too. They typically meet you in the ER to give you a wreckless driving ticket. If this is her first crash and she has no other major speeding tickets, she is still 2-3 tickets away from losing her license

Yup. A quarter of a second at that speed...in traffic...is enough. Like others have said, you have to ride a bike like no one sees you. Period. And at that speed, literally in the time you look away to focus back on the road ahead and move...homegirl can enter into your blind spot and be in the position to get run over. Zero you can do about it.

Anyone else notice she's constantly splitting lanes/passing people on the right side?

Must be a complete beginner, notice the other dude is passing on the left...

She was asking for this to happen the entire time

As someone who rode and rode FAST for 10 years that was stupid. Too much traffic, too many brakelights, to much lane splitting. When you're seeing all those brake lights whether you're on a bike or in a car it's a bad idea to push through.

A couple of weeks ago I was in traffic on the freeway and we were all going about 85 for a ways. Then, we're coming up to a spot that I know is bad for traffic to slow down so I increased the gap between me and the car in front of me by a couple of car lengths. We ended up coming to a stop about 20 seconds later and people a few cars back had to swerve around the car in front of them and ended up in the emergency lane with their brakes to the floor.
You are the only problem you will ever have and YOU are the only solution.
