Have you ever known anyone who only ever talks about themselves?

Apart from obviously Davik, whom we all know only ever talks about himself, do you know anyone IRL who only talks about themselves, their own problems, their own interests?


It's terribly annoying to have someone who only ever speaks with their intention of dumping their random self-obsessive thoughts onto others. What did you do about this, if you were unfortunate enough to know someone this narcissitic?

What I've been doing is just reflecting their own behaviour back at them. Whenever the girl I know just rambles about herself, I just start talking about myself. Even if it's a total non-sequitur and irrelevant to the preceding conversation. I just ignore what was said and start talking about myself. It turns into a bizarre exchange of two people spewing unrelated thoughts about themselves which isn't really a conversation at all.

I can see her starting to get annoyed as I take the power away from her to ramble on about herself, like she's unable to fathom why I keep talking about myself when it wasn't relevant to the conversation. LOL.

Sometimes with narcissists, and also possibly aspergoids, you just need to defang their tactics rather than talk in good faith.

I have several clients who do this and could care less about my life or what is going on. They just want to talk about everything they are going through. It's just part of hte job when you're a client focused business, but sometimes I find it funny because they are probably like that around everyone which is why they have little social life.

Good man, that's more than I can say about some people. As you can probably surmise, it's extremely annoying and it's a very aspergoid trait. It's also, sadly, an easy way to lose friends which is what happens to a lot of women on the spectrum.


An easy to lessen the focus on yourself is just to keep the other person talking. Which means ask questions. You can't be talking about yourself and be asking questions unless you're a psycho. It's also a really easy way to build attraction and rapport with women, keep them talking about themselves because they will think you a good listener and conversationalist.



So just remember: Ask questions.

I've come across some people that are narcissistic at an obnoxious level. I just choose not to associate with folks like that because I find it a really undesirable and unbecoming personality trait to be that way. And it's not only flat out talking about themselves but it's those that always feel the need to tell you what they would do in a situation you find yourself in or bringing the conversation back to themselves all the time. Even gaslighting you to a certain extent. Hey I'm feeling pretty stressed about this thing. "It's not a big deal I wouldn't be stressed out about that there's no need to be stressed out." Thanks, chief. Real helpful. How about you just listen and validate? That does sound pretty stressful, I'm sorry you feel that way, let me know if there's anything I can do to help you out.

99% of people love to yap about themselves. It's my go-to when a person doesn't shut the fukk up IRL, I'll ask them questions to have them yap about themselves so I don't have to really engage in the conversation and can tune them out. (Super Ded fkn Srs)
