Nah, you're focusing on the wrong thing.

Unironically Thanksgiving is usually one of the healthiest meals Americans will eat in the year because the meal is usually made from scratch at home.

BTW, as someone that use to work in the service industry, the day AFTER thanksgiving is usually the busiest day for service workers (fast food/restaurants etc) because everyone goes out to eat instead of eating leftovers.

Its usually because of the friends and extended family that are over visiting. Instead of eating boring leftovers, people usually go out to eat.

The leftovers are usually saved for the host (the house where the dinner takes place) and its usually not picked at until the monday after when all the guests have left.
