Migrants help keep the infinite-growth Ponzi going, at a time when the infinite-growth Ponzi is dying out. They consoom, they have children who consoom, and they compete with white labor to drive down wages.

I've been wanting to write a post about The Limits of Growth for a while. Back in 1972, a couple MIT gigabrains built a computer model of a basic world economy. There are this many people, consooming this much, and eating this much food, and generating this much pollution, etc... and then they projected 20th century growth trends forward to see if they were sustainable.

Of course, they're not. In their "Business As Usual" model, economic growth slows and then stalls out in the early 21st century. Resource depletion caps industrial output and food production around 2020, and then the economy basically collapses under its own weight. Population tanks, the food supply tanks, output per capita tanks, and by 2100, the average person has the same standard of living as he did in 1900.

Anyway, 50 years in and we are tracking the Business As Usual projection near perfectly. If you are running a Ponzi pension fund, this is all very concerning.



The powers that be want to keep that late 20th century "industrial output" curve exponentially ramping upwards, and are pulling every lever they can to make that flat early-21st century line pick up again. They structurally can't, but they will try, because they like living off of dividends.

Socialist politicians like migrants because they're useful as political clients. The natives might stray off the reservation and vote for a right-wing anti-establishment party, but many (most?) migrants live off government assistance, so they're guaranteed votes for the left.

Many of these politicians are also addicted to virtue signaling, they're insulated from the consequences of their bad policies, etc.

Agree that this was the original rationale for immigration, but now everyone knows that migrants are net tax consumers, yet immigration is higher than ever. Hard to talk about immigrants supporting the public-pension Ponzi when many of them (and their children) spend their whole lives on the dole.

I'm not saying that quality of life doesn't suffer when millions of uneducated, unemployed migrants flood in. I'm saying the elites don't care about your quality of life when their money is on the line. They're busy flying private jets and repping trafficked children, and their only concern is that the wheel keeps spinning so they can keep doing it.

cool post, every 5th grader knows every native population naturally finds its balance and trying to tip the balance always leads to catastrophe.
