I prefer Tim Scott on the view but it’s hannity whom I got nothing but admiration and respect for. I’m skipping it though.

I prefer Nikki and Vivek. Ron has been lackluster and underwhelming . He never owns the room. He already was a question mark outside of florida

I'm willing to bet it's a test to see if he gets good press and can beat a GOP candidate in a debate. He's the backup plan for Biden for sure, this is just going to give him some reps on a bigger stage.

Whoever suggested/backed this on the DeSantis team should be fired.

INB4 Hannity tries to come across as neutral while going after DeSantis instead of real time fact checking and immediately piling on Newsome.

I think it will be good to see policy vs policy. Not necessarily who is participating.

Kind of like UFC prelims before the main event. I do hope that DeSantis will illustrate how his policies are far superior to the failing policies of Newsom - to make people who do watch, more aware.

But, neither will be president.

I really really think Newsom will end up being the nominee. Everyone knows Biden is a complete failure and the dems can't hide it anymore. Trump has better polling than anytime he did in 2016 or 2020.

The play would be to try to get Biden out around 4-6 months before the election. That way Newsom gets the new candidate boost where there isn't much time for the negatives about him to become widespread and well known. Favorability of candidates is always at the highest during the first few months after they announce.

I believe all the filing deadlines are past. Newsome can't get on the ballot in any of the states now. Only way, I believe, is a floor fight at the convention.
A democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch. And that's why the USA is a constitutional republic and not a democracy.

I might watch the DeSantis Newsom debate. It is more than just about the election. In a broader sense it will give a view of what many Democrats want for the rest of the nation with how California is run, and what conservatives value with how DeSantis has governed Florida.

Look at the massive new mailing system rolled out in 2020 with Covid. That was in less than 6 months. They'll figure out a way.

Biden will be told to step down and have a health crisis or something.

Honestly I think Newsome is an easier opponent than Brandon. Newsome will run up big numbers in the coastal cities, but I think he’d struggle in the rust belt. Rust belt union boomer retards love politicians like Brandon because he reminds them of daddy’s Democrat and that makes them feel warm and fuzzy. Newsome comes off as a slick coastal elite slimeball and I don’t think he’d play nearly as well in the rust belt as Brandon.

Well that's because Newsome IS a slick coastal elite slimeball. He epitomized that image.

You guys are just now hearing about the DeSantis/Newsome debate?

I heard about it a couple months ago. The DeSantis camp obviously thought a good performance by Ron might help him gain momentum on Trump. Then they said it was gonna be like a 2+ month long wait until now, and anyone who was paying any attention knew the orange man would have the DeSantis campaign burried by now. Total waste of time for Ron at this point, and Newsome stands to benefit greatly by making DeSantis look like a dork, which isn't really too hard to do.

He doesn't have to beat DeSantis on policy in order to "win" the debate. Just look and seem like less of a dork than Ron.

I'm not even sure what DeSantis gains from doing this debate. Even if he smokes Newsom (which is unlikely) then I guess it's a congratulatory pat on the back for defeating a guy that has made no official announcement he's running for president? Hell, even if Newsome WAS running for president, desantis still has to get through the other GOP candidates first.

Yeah I was looking at that as well, especially after how well he handled himself against Hannity earlier this year. He didn't have to be right or accurate in his responses, he just had to be convincing, and he excels at that.
