a few questions come to mind:
1. Reagans(the 80's) gov't would do this, or jimmy Carter( late 70's), nah.
2. Hip hop users abused weed, and crack not the other drugs mentioned.
3. Why would hood folks work with the people that they hate( cia,cops, gov't authorities), the video tried to say that they didn't create the songs( were fed lyrics), doubt it.

I believe most of the guys who were signed to record labels who promoted murder, robbing, etc in their lyrics didn't care about anything other than getting paid.


The people paying them weren't unveiling the reason for pushing the songs out.

If Blacks didn't have a natural affinity towards such behavior, it would never have been as popular as it is.

The original hip hop/rap was silly talk about the neighborhood and basketball so your theories about violence did not come for a decade after, i call it like it is.
It is entirely possible that labels were influenced but that was a long time after.

This, I see it quite often. The parents will be pushing harder than the kids, it's like the parents see the kid as their ticket to a better life. And funnily enough, in doing that they disregard things that would 100% ensure their child a better life.
When it comes your time to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with the fear of death, so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way. Sing your death song and die like a hero going home.
