Lmao yeah that's pretty cringe. I never played this franchise, looked into a playthrough of the first game and tbh it's the annoying piece of chit little kid that turned me off real quick. BRB big bad guys looking around to kill us and this kid doesn't take the threat seriously but wants to wander off and play+make a bunch of noise that gets them fukked. I hate that trope/dynamic so much.

I'd be crazy to call the new GOW a bad game. I enjoyed it but I didn't think it was anywhere as good as its hyped to be and I guess that comes down to personal preference. I only played through the game once, 3 years ago and eventually I'll do another but the things I didn't like:


1. The world and graphics were beautiful and story fantastic but the combat "arenas" whether it be going through caves, labyrinths, buildings etc felt very repetitive and like a chore. For some reason I didn't like the puzzles either. I'm normally good with them but some felt annoying.

2. Pacing of the game was really weird at times.

3. The kid was annoying as fuk. I guess this is what having a kid is like? But damn I just didn't like him.

4. As others have said, I didn't like the new combat angle where you're directly behind Kratos and had this very narrow view of the arena.

5. Combat felt clunky to me. I get he's older and slower but along with the new viewing angle I never got the hang of it like I do with other games.

6. Serious lack of boss battles. WTF, was the game rushed? Where are all the cool bosses? Half of the boss battles are the same ogre you fight in the beginning in different colors. Not only bosses, but even the enemy mobs felt limited to me.

I thought that game was great. Top 10 for me, maybe even top 5. But that right there ^ is by far the worst part of the game to me. I am not a kid person but fawk that little soyboy twink drove me insane and definitely made the game a worse experience. Game would have been much better if the kid just showed up during a couple cutscenes rather than tag along all game with his annoying cry baby banter.

It's a Sony title, what do you think his answer is?

Loved GoW but immediately scheduled a vasectomy once I rolled credits. If you endured GoW kid and still enjoyed the game even despite the many other things you view as shortcomings I wouldn't avoid Plague Tale, especially since it was free on Essential tier, just give it a go. Atreus is angsty and eager but he was never dumb as bricks. His daddy is Kratos God of War, he is relatively safe. In Plague Tale the little boy is with his sister when suddenly some enforcers are in the arena hunting for them. They are in imminent danger, his sister warns this and have to be silent or they are dead but suddenly the kid thinks this is the best time to run away from his sister to go play. Fkn what?

Anyone who thinks Hugo was annoying would be correct. Having three of my own, the writers and dev team did an absolutely incredibly good job of writing him exactly how most kids his age would act in those situations. It's a shame some of you rock heads can't appreciate that for what it is...

Lmao at anyone who can't appreciate the Plague Tale games. Amicia and Hugo were both very, very well written. Some of you are too IQ to appreciate it I guess.
