When did you achieve Nirvana when it comes to exercise and nutrition knowledge?

When I was young before the days of the Internet, I was interested in fitness but had problems gaining knowledge about it. Fitness people that I knew would charge me money for little snippets of knowledge, and I was poor. I was on probation and couldn’t buy bodybuilding books or magazines because my probation officer didn’t want me lifting, and would take them away from me back then.

Over the past year I’ve gained some insight about nutrition and fitness that I’d like to share, because a I feel fitness knowledge should be free.

48 ounces Plain non-fat Greek yogurtat Costco. I mix 8 ounces of it in my oatmeal with whey protein isolate. It’s the same price as 32 ounces at a regular grocery store.

Peas.has all of the B vitamins spinach has plus zinc, but in larger quantities. I eat it every night before bed.

Cheat meals on leg day. This is something someone told me at a gym five or six years ago, if you like biscuits and gravy, leg day would be the best time to indulge.

What are the secrets you’ve learned about nutrition and fitness over the course of your lifetime?
Exercise will get you through times of ill health better than no exercise will get you through times of good health.

There are no secrets or hacks to nutrition and exercise now a days...
Everything is easy to research yourself, you just gotta sift through all the bs marketing and idiots giving advice
My secret is that I tried to gain knowledge on health/nutrition on my own and tried to fact check or use my brain instead of blindly trusting something someone told me just because he had more gains than me...

Barbell BSD are worthless

Bulking will just have you on the toilet all the time

Mobility and cardio are just as important as lifting

I achieved it when I saw Kurt Cobain. Saw how skinny the dude was and realized people like him needed more calories.

I pretty much know everything I need to know about lifting and dieting at this point. The problem is actually applying it.

The diet that works for me, won't work for you.

But you'd be amazed how so many people drink hundreds of useless calories a day.

I know this female that talks about losing weight, but she drinks two venti lattes a day from Starbucks, I gave her some advice, and told her to simply switch to black coffee.

Her response? "But I love my lattes......"

She's still fat

Once again, they're compound lifts. Nobody can spot you on a dead lift you either can do it, or you can't. Of course you're probably that individual in the gym, with a bored, unfocused look on their face, just going through the motions, bull****ting on their phone, while people are waiting for you to get done with your half assed set.

There are basic general principles that we all try but once Dorian Yates said that squats didn't work for him and that hacks stimulated his quads more I realized that you must try everything and create your own programs and take notes.

Through this i learned
I was a non responder to creatine
I needed high volume20 plus sets
Machines for heavy weight = less joint injuries
Extra protein
Intermittent fasting works
And all the tips from hany rambods videos.

Try everything for month and take notes
There is an unspoken thing, we are iron brothers and sisters, we are to support each other and...It is our duty to support our brothers and sisters in the iron game!

Bad news, champ. You know that steak or those chicken breasts you buy? They've been removed from an animal, which means they've been processed. Try the same thing but use refined - then you won't sound like those fukwits that claim "processed" foods are the devil.

Why would you have a "Cheat Meal" breakfast for leg day? And that cracks me up with the whole "processing" bull****. Everything is processed in one way or another.

Hell, do people even wonder why their Tyson chicken breasts that they buy, have such high sodium amount?

A few standouts imo^^^

To answer your title question OP, it's when I started competing. Competing brought my training and urgency to a whole new level, therefore pushed my desire for knowledge.
And if there's one common theme, as mentioned, it's to keep it simple and consistant. The problem is that 99% of the population is so "oooohh shiny", they can't stay focused or consistant.

Had a co-worker who competed, it seemed cool because he had this goal, but on the other hand, he was beyond miserable towards the end. Had the desth face look and everything.

The he would ruin it, by pigging out on junk afterwards.

"Cheat" meals are a massive cope too. Good if you're bulking but no retard seems to understand that if you diet hard all week then allow yourself one burger or one pizza, the excess empty calories will fuk your work up for the week - how seriously depends on the caloric deficit you've created prior to the meal

Do it properly FFS - if you're programming chicken breast for dinner every night, switch it out for a good sized steak one night a week. If you're eating boring, bland tinned tuna switch it out for a chunk of grilled salmon.

I don't understand these fukers who spend all their time trying wonder drugs and miracle weight loss or fat loss substances when they can't get the basics right.

If everything is good and you hit a plateau regarding fat loss despite the training, diet and TDEE being on point, sure - give clen, or ECA, or FRAG a shot to break the plateau and speed things up. But lay off the 1500 calorie dinners that you post on social media with the hashtags about rewarding hard work or chit like gotta love leg day.

Kunts.
