Are there any popular bands you never got into?

I never liked u2. I couldn't understand why they got so much airplay on rock stations. To me they aren't even a rock band. Just a strange ska or pop band that doesn't use a fake computer drum program. Really no different than Coldplay or Madonna or Michael Jackson.

Who even listens to that crap? I imagine some effeminate cuck who uses an iPhone and sips on lattes.

U2 is elevator music. U2 is music for people who don't listen to music enough to even know what they like.

I don't like them either.

I think it's harder to get into music from before your time even if they were supposed to be great. I was just looking at "the rolling stone 100 greatest artists of all time" and the top 20 are a joke. I'd bet most people alive right now have never listened to any of them. Seemed like they were pushing more of an agenda than good music.

I'd agree with those two. Even stuff like Elvis or the Beetles, I can listen to it but not really into any of it.

U2, Nirvana, Phish, etc. Youtube was able to teach me there's actually a lot of people and bands out there with obscene talent, just not on mainstream radio.

So, I love the Mick Taylor era. He was in the Rolling Stones from 1969-1974 after they parted ways with Brian Jones.

To be honest, after he left their music was just meh. Hard to find a really great song after he left.

All Mick Taylor starting around 2:43 (4:40 is when it really kicks in) thru the rest of the song.

For me I like alot of this music, but sometimes it's not what I'd choose if I'm actively listening to music. Like I can put it on when I'm doing chores or working or something like that.

But if I'm sitting down to actually sit and listen to music then that's not what I put on.

I recently got a record player and my girlfriends dad gave me tons of old records, one thing I have noticed about alot of these bands is that their albums are better from beginning to end. Alot less like fluff songs to fill a record if that makes sense. Artists these days seem to go for a hit first, then fill the album in after. Back then it seemed more like bands making good music with less of an agenda to it. Listening to a 1967 (or 68?) Chicago album and it's just good music, a band jamming out on half the album. Rarity these days imo

Album oriented rock was the main format up until like the 1990s. Albums were complete pieces with their own art and notes and stuff. Not just big concept albums. Most people bought compete albums or later cassettes or CDs. Singles weren't a big thing in the rock genre.

Never got into Grunge Music, or bands like BLINK 182. Always hated Creed. What was that glam rock band in the 2000s, where the singer sounded like his nuts never dropped? Something like, "I believe in a thing called love?"

The Darkness lol

Most popular artists now I can’t get behind. Most of the shows I go to were of bands that peaked in the 80’s tbh

These aren't all huge, huge bands, but this is a list of popular bands I remember that I never got into.

3 Doors Down
Nickelback
Seether
Three Days Grace
Avenged Sevenfold
Five Finger Deathpunch
Metallica (first few albums were solid, don't care about anything else)

RATM's not that bad but they're corny and childish... "fuk you, I won't do what you tell me!" So many of their songs sound like an angry ten year-old boy yelling at his step-dad. That's not even to mention their juvenile "political messages".

FFDP, Nickelback, & Creed are widely hated

Oh, and I forgot to add Journey and Train to my list. They both suck balls.
