Never have. Will give that a try if I get a chance.

Hotel California just always reminded me of Freebird for some reason. Maybe it was just played out too much

I liked their earlier albums better, they seemed more genuine. "Take it easy" "desperado" "Tequila sunrise" "One of these nights". Perfect music to sit on the beach and have a drink to. Their first 4 albums.

The Hotel California album and The Long Run (their last two albums) were more hard rock oriented and were made after the drugs had taken hold, as well as the conflicting egos of the band.

"Hotel California" is their best song, and probably a top 10 song ever recorded.

great band and moreover ....very great "sound". hard to describe but a mix of what they wrote, when they wrote it, the mixing board, the analog everything, etc. this was all pre computer so it has a very warm sound that fits the band

also just the times. schoolteachers could live in the same neighborhoods as rock stars (SoCal real estate) so there is another variable.
