Misc watch experts - recommend me a fancy watch

looking to spend around 3-5K. I want something with a leather/rubber band kinda like this - I already have a seamaster with stainless steel band

the best value for money watch you can get is a Speedmaster.

I got the FOIS, and it's incredible. Always get compliments from those that know, It can be dressed up or down and it's iconic.

Planet oceans are ok (too big and bulky for my liking).

Yeah this one was easy to tell. The color, crown above rolex, and crown on the side all look off. Though not all fakes have so many giveaways.

I forgot to add suggestions. ^ Santos is good. Tudor is good too. I’ll add an IWC pilot watch, an older speedmaster (as long as it’s not some special model), or an old navitimer too. Longines makes decent stuff in that range as well. And if you want something minimalistic, Nomos is considered good.

I'll second Nomos.

I think Cartier and Nomos are going to be generally nicer than the Omega he already has. Tudor would be about on par. I still think of Longines as an entry level brand, even though they have become more expensive.

Go to some watch stores and try some on and see which one speaks to you.

For me it’s Rolex or go home but there’s no right answer. If money is no object you can do much better than Rolex.
