tbf nobody knows what they'd do in a situation like that till it happens to them

She was prob a noob, the academy can't replicate real life situations. A large percentage leave within the first couple years cause they realize they aren't cut out for the job

From what I remember this officer was a plainclothes detective. Not fresh out of the academy, but being a detective is a lot different than working a beat
