I think Trump should pick someone who will appeal to moderates and undecided voters etc as his VP. Trump will be very very good at getting out his base, so he doesn't need to focus on that with his VP pick. Instead, he should be picking someone who will help broaden his appeal to other undecided groups. I don't think Carlson would be a good pick from a strategic election-winning viewpoint.
