I've always wanted to read The Hobbit and The LOTR books, but which publisher?

Sup nerds.


I was shopping online for hardcovers of said books, but it seems like there's tons of publishers and editions out for these books. I'm looking for a hardcover with good print quality. Which ones should I buy? Reps on sight for good links.

I've never read them butni would think starting with the original so you can have and make comparisons to the original works would be a good start.

My buddy told me he tries to read them now because he enjoyed them as a kid

But he says it's too descriptive. He'll het through 5 pages describing treebeard and the whole time he's just picturing treebeard from the movie anyways
