Any 77” LG oled G3 owners here ?

I found this odd as the G3 is 2K cheaper than the G2 . I do see the processor is better in the G2 on the models shown , so maybe that’s the reason it’s more expensive.
Was debating to purchase the G3 tomorrow, as I have a 65’ C1 now , and I think the 77 would just fit . I sit 10.5 feet away from the screen.

https://www.lg.com/us/tvs/lg-oled77g3pua-oled-4k-tv

Here’s my living room with the 65 . Some day I was going to replace the blinds with the solid plastic inserts so there’s no reflection. The new oleds do have less reflection than prior models though

I suspect this model does not have the MLA , will have to study further. Not really a deal breaker but would be nice.

ok researched it further and I believe all the G3’s have it except the models over 77” in size

Ya Canada sucks. To top it off they want to shove their extended warranty down your throat . It’s an additional $900 for 5 years , but LG has already extended their warranty to 5 years . Seems like a waste of money to me, but they’re sure adamint about it . There’s also 13% tax , so it ends up being close to 7K

I watch YouTube and cable through the cable portal supplied by my cable company. I don’t like wireless and have it connected via cat6 .
I have a Panasonic 4K player , and most of the movies I buy are blue ray 4K

It could be a little bigger tbh , although I wish they made a size somewhere in the middle as 77 is pushing it . But oleds are size specific , and I’m only interested in oled.

Question guys , they are trying to push the instore extended warranty , which is almost $1000 , but LG has gone from 1 year to 5 years . I don’t see the benefit here ?

Why do you rent out a basement suite and then spent 5K on a TV??

Ya I had the best 65” plasma made by Panasonic , can’t remember now Z series or something.
Anyways I sold it a few years later and bought an Oled , as I found the pixel density wasn’t great after I changed my living room around and sat closer .
I still have a 42” plasma in my bedroom, it’s basically a surveillance monitor for my cameras

Get it from a store like Costco so you get 5 year warranty included.

It doesn't cover burn in but that really shouldn't be an issue. It will, cover everything else and you won't have to pay for it.

My LG cx from 2021 already died and I would have been completely ****ed with a 2000 dollar brick if I didn't buy it from Costco and get the free 3 year all state on top of Costco 2 year (5 years total)

Maybe the newer lgs are better but the issue with my LG cx was very common and there's entire subreddit and huge threads on the LG forum about the exact issue with my LG cx.

Ya there a total crock of chit . I did buy the instore warranty for my 65” oled and it actually paid off .
It calfed two weeks before it was 3 years old . Back then LG only had a 1 year warranty, so it saved my arse .
It was actually a CX and they replaced the panel with a C1 . The insurance company did kick and scream though , but the local repair depot convinced them to replace it .
IMO it should be easy to get the insurance once the tv bricks , but turns out they would wouldn’t rather not pay to fix it . Who could have seen this coming.

Anyways LG has extended their warranty to 5 years , so I’m not seeing a point to buying the instore warranty.

And yes that is how they make their money , as the markup isn’t what it was back in the old days

That’s very interesting. My cx was working one second , the next it only had a vertical green line . I had no idea their reliability was so bad . They still used the electronics from my cx , but replaced the panel itself with a c1 . So I actually came ahead once in my life

Problem with extended warranties on these is that they’re like phones and you’ll probably want a new one after 5 years anyways because of other advancements and the old processor not performing well after years of software updates

I have a 65” B7 that has red burn in and could get a panel swap but the processor is the bigger issue, apps now are more demanding, etc

Nope gonna relegate it to a different room for less use and get a new one with the latest tech at some point here, but the processor is more of an issue than burn-in that’s only noticeable with large chunks of solid colours

Lol @ warrantycels. Just use that extra cash to buy an upgrade when it craps out.

@op I have a 77" for gaming and it's right at the end of my bed. I'd go no less than 77 if I were you. LG is the GOAT when it comes to TVs. Enjoy brah.
