70% of all.olive oil in the United States is
Fake.
https://camillestyles.com/food/olive-oil-fraud/
Most people who use it destroy all the health benefits from it anyways.
Olive should never be used to fry food. Unless it reaches a temp where it is boiling or you can fry it takes away all the goof stuff that olive should be consumed for.
Either use it straight from the can/bottle or cook with it on low/medium heat.
I always used it. Just can't afford it at the moment.

Yep I watch the cooking shows on PBS occasionally and they did a report about this 3 years ago. They gave specific brands to avoid

All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident.

If you want an actual legit tip on knowing which one to buy.
The one in a fukking tin, followed by the one in the darkest green bottle. Put olive oil stored in clear plastic is a hard fukking pass for me. Chit isn’t even the right color most of the time.

Example;
Tuscan oil for meat
Provençal French for salads
Ligurian for fish

edit: well not sticker, but I think they have to put 100% italian prominently on the bottle or whatever

I've heard that before about olive oil. For awhile I worked for a firm that dealt with vegetable oils. I don't know this for certain but the company buying the olive oil for production or sale should be able to easily tell if it is real or adulterated olive oil by testing. It wouldn't surprise me though if most companies don't run that test and instead perform only a simple rancid or not test.

I've been using ghee lately. It's expensive as fuk. But I like the taste as well as the ease of use.

FDA spends 7.2 billion a year of tax payers money.
The fake olive oil thing has been known for atleast 20 years if not longer.
Assuming the budget stayed constant then that is 150 billion dollars over the last 20 years they have spent in tax payers money but we still have the same fuked up olive oil situation and whats worse is people are told over and over it will help their heart when the **** isnt even as labeled.
Might as well disband them they dont even do anything useful.
