That's crazy. Does it actually sit on the shelf in Kentucky- or at least at their distillery? Genuinely only ever saw a bottle on the shelf one time when the liquor store I frequent was stocking the shelves and asked me if I wanted it.

I had to wait in line at the distillery for it to open. They only sell what they put out that day. So if you're not there right when they open, chances are they sell out. Limit 1 per person every 90 days.

Decided to check out the other liquor store in my neighborhood and see what they had on offer (in Oregon you can only buy spirits at state licensed liquor stores)

Picked up these 3 for $154:

That should do me well over the holidays to share with family and have a few taste testing parties with friends

tried a dram of the four roses - did not disappoint
Awesome pics. Great size. Look thick. Solid. Tight. Keep us all posted on your continued progress with any new progress pics or vid clips. Show us what you got man. Wanna see how freakin' huge, solid, thick and tight you can get. Thanks for the motivation.

Just tried out the Michter's - yum!

It's got some heat to it - clears out the sinuses well - but doesn't have a "gasoline/fuel" taste that I usually find accompanies that sensation which I don't enjoy. This kind of heat I did enjoy.

This was better than expected. They do moonshine incredibly so I didn’t expect this to taste as good as it did.

I probably banged your mom.

andddd trying the last of the 3 bottles today - Old Forester BiB. Big fan of this. Very smooth but not dull at all.

Got these two for christmas:

Then got lucky and got these two in stores over the last week:

definitely some shady chit going on in the bourbon market here in Oregon

the state runs liquor stores and distribution and sets prices, and they have a website that shows inventory of stores and is updated daily

last week see the store closest to my house has 1 blantons and 4 bottles of eagle rare 10

go in, ask about them. Counter lady asks the boss and he goes in the back to look. She says something like "yeah usually when people ask to go see if we have something in the back they leave a tip" and I'm look okay... Owner comes out with a bottle of blantons and is like now make sure you leave her a nice tip for finding it for you. I was like ok lol... didnt have any cash on me so couldn't anyways lmao. Remainder of the week I go to stores looking for Wellers, Stagg, Eagle Rare that all show as having inventory on the website. None of them say they do, but one sells me a bottle of Bookers they say someone else backed out on. Paid 60 for the blantons and 80 for the bookers so I'm happy about that. But I have a feeling a lot of stores probably have people who pay extra money on the side to get the rarer stuff.

Mirin that Blantons and Bookers. I have to go to Fl to get either one.

Sometimes I’ll find Blantons in NC but it’s rare and random as hell.

Had me some Blanton's neat the other day at lunch. Finding a bottle in Houston is the same.

Had some family over for NYE and did a blind bourbon tasting for them with a variety of unlabeled pours including:

Eagle Rare
Blantons
Mellow Corn
Rowans Creek
Benchmark Full Proof
Four Roses Single Barrel

3 of them picked Rowans Creek as their favorite, and 1 of them picked Eagle Rare.

pick ups from one of my local stores tonight:

same batch of Bookers as the other one I recently bought, so will most likely gift it to my best friend

$90 for the bookers
$70 for the KC 12
$33 for the ER

this same shop showed them having 12 bottles of ER earlier this week on the state search site. When I went in the lady was like nope we got none. Went in tonight to pickup the KC and asked the lady if they had any allocated bottles in the back... shes like hmmm yeah we have some Eagle Rare... this chit is shady af lol
state-controlled liquor stores can be both a blessing and a curse...

Now that we've entered holiday season, work is a bit slower and such.....I am goingthroughsome whiskey. lol

I need to make a run today/tomorrow and re-up. I had like 4-5 bottles that had like 2 pours worth in them and have successfully cleaned my stash out.

My favorite local spot has Eagle Rare 10 for $46....definitely going to pick up a bottle of that.

Probably going to get a Widow Jane 10 year. $75 at my spot. (2 Stores on the other side of town sell it for $99)

Going to get something else too, Ill see what they have in the $50+/- range. Might get crazy and pick up a Lagavulin 16....soo goooood.

How’s the E.H? I’ve been a huge fan of the Elijah Craig. Not sure why but to me it’s one of the smoothest easiest drinks around.

EHT is easily the best from Buffalo Trace. Better than Blanton's, Eagle Rare, Elmer, etc.

That Elijah Craig is the barrel proof. At 133 proof it's a real flame thrower lol. The regular Elijah Craig's e is also good, I have an opened bottle of that.

Dam I saw a bottle of EHT at my local spot and didn’t go for it. I’ve been pretty underwhelmed with the blantons I got. Eagle rare has been good, but I don’t think I’d buy more over $40. I didn’t see the EC wad barrel proof lmao I bet that can be toasty

I bought the bottle of EHT at the distillery for $43.

We saw bottles on the shelves at stores 3 miles away for $150. Swear to God.

I believe it. I've only snagged EHT when it's dropped by a local chain at MSRP... and you better be in the area or it's going to be sold out before you get there even at limit 1 per customer.

Haven't posted in here in awhile... been goin hard collecting bourbon during the last year. I ran out of space in my original liquor cabinet so just this past weekend I put together a new shelf unit to display all my allocated stuff:

for better or worse, Oregon is a controlled state so everything is sold at MSRP in stores. I've built up a good relationship with one of my liquor stores and have been able to almost all this at MSRP no mark up. There's a handful of bottles I haven't been able to find in stores that I've traded for on the secondary market through a local FB group like the WFP, W12 and Stagg jr.

I've become a proof whore overtime. Love me some barrel proof bourbon.
Awesome pics. Great size. Look thick. Solid. Tight. Keep us all posted on your continued progress with any new progress pics or vid clips. Show us what you got man. Wanna see how freakin' huge, solid, thick and tight you can get. Thanks for the motivation.

thanks brah. Things I'm missing:
Weller CYPB
Weller SiB
Rochhill Farms
Elmter T Lee
Michter 10 year
Old Fitz BiB
OF Birthday bourbon

although I don't think I'd buy/trade for these on the secondary market. All $300+ on secondary which just doesn't seem worth it value wise. And also super improbable I'll be able to find any of them in stores
