Positive Quotes from Les Brown, Motivational Speaker

https://lesbrown.com

I saw Les in person when I was doing sales. He was AMAZING and after that I hit my quota and received a promotion and earned a free trip to Puerto Rico.

"Don't let someone else's opinion of you become reality." I have to remember this one!!

"Wanting something is not enough. You must hunger for it. Your motivation must be absolutely compelling in order to overcome the obstacles that will invariably come your way."

"You are something special. You have greatness within you."

"Life has no limitations, except the ones you make. Most people fail in life not because they aim too high and miss, but because they aim too low and hit. If you take responsibility for yourself you will develop a hunger to accomplish your dreams. The greatest revenge is massive success."

“Align yourself with people that you can learn from, people who want more out of life, people who are stretching and searching and seeking some higher ground in life.”

“The things you want are always possible; it is just that the way to get them is not always apparent. The only real obstacle in your path to a fulfilling life is you, and that can be a considerable obstacle because you carry the baggage of insecurities and past experience.”

I love reggaeton! I absolutely loved the Caribbean. The Bob Marley vibe there is great. I don't smoke weed, though. It makes me get the munchies and I don't need that.

or is this another case of the dopamine hit from thinking about doing something productive is enough to warrant not actually doing said thing

Listening to "motivational speakers" is a massive waste of time. Like listening to a thousand "Ted Talks", you'll hear all kinds of generic advice, and you'll put none of it into practice. Even if you tried, the advice is always so generic that you definitely didn't need anyone else to tell you about it first. The entire motivational speaking thing where everyone thinks they are Tony Robbins from the 90's is the cringiest crap ever.

A lot of past motivational speakers admitted years later to even being on drugs when giving these speeches. Usually uppers to be extra positive. See how some of these people act when giving this uplifting talks and seminars.

Yes. When I saw Les in person I immediately called my prospects and sold $1,000 worth of cosmetics. Of course that's why the company hires these folks--to motivate you to sell, and then they get the big $$$ in ROI.

See above.

I find myself applying for more jobs and I'm more productive this week with cleaning and cleaning out 25 years of crap under the sinks and in the closet.

I would rather sometimes listen to music when I drive and sometimes listen to positive messages instead of just music.

I sometimes listen to those who have ideas about productivity at work when I'm feeling overwhelmed with tasks, or I also listened to "French Women Don't Get Fat" but that caused me to drink a glass of champagne every night and increase my alcohol tolerance, plus gaining instead of losing weight.

I am in my car 2-3 hours for a commute so I might as well do something positive with it. I usually call my Dad as well.

Well Tony Robbins acts really bizarre. I'm not a fan of his.

I'm sure it's hard to get in front of a crowd for a motivational speaker, just like it is to sing as a musician.

I get nervous just making a small presentation at work.

Just get a couple cats already and be done with it, Dusty. You know I would fully support such a move. They will help calm you down when you pet them and feed them.

I have 2 cats. Of course you and GarfieldTheCat would be happy!

Also when I'm not working I volunteer at the cat rescue group where they show their cats at the pet store for adoption. The last time I was off work I cleaned their cages and fed them. It's REALLY hard as you want to adopt all of them, so I take a deep breath and say I'm there to help them for a few hours and enrich their lives during that time and don't get attached.

Although I've adopted 3 from there, so I've done some adopting

Okay, I take it all back. I can't hold much against someone who is so willing to help cats out.

I don't know who Jocko is but I'll have to look him up.

I liked Brian Tracy but he's more sales specific and I'm only doing eBay sales now.

Of course!

I grew up with 9 cats that we took in as strays.

Here are some Brian Tracy quotes for inspiration:

I need to follow the first one!!!

“Never complain, never explain. Resist the temptation to defend yourself or make excuses.”

“Successful people are always looking for opportunities to help others.
Unsuccessful people are always asking, "What's in it for me?”

“You cannot control what happens to you, but you can control your attitude
toward what happens to you, and in that, you will be mastering change rather
than allowing it to master you.”

“It doesn't matter where you are coming from. All that matters is where you are
going.”

“Develop an attitude of gratitude, and give thanks for everything that happens to
you, knowing that every step forward is a step toward achieving something
bigger and better than your current situation.”

“I've found that luck is quite predictable. If you want more luck, take more
chances, Be more active, Show up more often.”

“All successful people men and women are big dreamers. They imagine what their future could be, ideal in every respect, and then they work every day toward their distant vision, that goal or purpose.”
