What ever happened to having your own website?
You used to see plebs and normies trying to flex and look important by having their own website.
Most of the time it was some lame chit like this...
This is my webpage

It was cool for 3 minutes back in like 2002/2003 when a few easy website builders let people run their "sites" without ads briefly. That all ended when they insisted on making people put ads in. People already weren't looking at the webpage the 14 year old version of you was uploading scanned images of your NFL football cards to the way it was. Those 500 - 1,000+ webpage views were almost exclusively from you refereshing it to fudge the page views counter numbers. I knew it, you knew, they knew - we all knew it. Then when the ads came in, everyone lost interest in maintaining "their" sites altogether, and it was a wrap. Then social media hit the scene and put the final kibosh on any concepts of personalized websites.

"What ever happened to having your own website?"
Howdy MM....
Yeah....back in 2002 my neighbor said he'd put together a personal (original music & select play-along copy tunes) website.
He did and it was fine.
But, I lost interest pretty quickly because I didn't really care toactivelypromote myself or the site.
Besides, I know my place in the music world.
I'm just a song writing bottom feeder with no actual fan base anyway.
I just do what I do as creative therapy, help others learn songs they'd like to learn and maybe interact with other like minds.
So....I just stick with the typical music upload sites and youtube for my drivel.
Carry on.

ive just made a landing page wix website and paid £100 for the year
tbh i'm going to try and use it as a hotlink in email signature to give the company a brief summary of the journeyman tradie work i do when i directly email them, more than they randomly stumble across it on page 14790 of google or bing
if i don't get any views or work then I won't bother with a renewal, i'm at my wit's end here trying to source average paid subcontractor work
The UK has a real problem with government not helping people get a normal salary for a 1st world white country

Got mine OP!
Definitely alive depending on who or what we’re talking about.
( I may just be in my own vortex of reality. )
・
Can be a waste, can be for fun, or can be used to play the game.
Like Tai Lopez;
He has played the game well the past couple decades through his own name + site and even recently bought this site about a year ago through his parent company.
Hi Tai!
・
But like anything it can and will be used for whatever humans want it to be.
From completely ignored to fully exploited.
・
Seems like multiplemiggs(dot)com is currently taken by guitarstrength(dot)com OP.
Should’ve acted quicker!

I had a website/forum that I built with my bare ass hands in high school. Got to around 20k members and was a website of high repute in that niche.
The actual answer is that the internet underwent massive consolidation in the 2010s. These innumerable personal websites and niche communities all got absorbed into giant sites such as Reddit.
The funniest thing about Reddit is that its direct progenitor concept existed even back then, albeit in disguise. There were websites that would allow people to create their own forum with a form, and they'd get assigned a subdomain like SickKuntSite.createaforum.com which would host their forum that they had full admin control over.
That's just Reddit with different terminology, more features, and without a centralized identity. Creating a "subreddit" that you have localized control over is the same as making a forum on one of those sites.

You didn’t start the war, you didn’t suggest the war, you didn’t even know the war began. Until almost 2 full months after it began…
But obviously microsoft and google are behind a lot of the covid crime.
So trying to save lives on both sides?
Not something they have interested since they and the pharmacies are paying zelesky to commit genocide

with reddit you could be pseudoanonymous and get big fat updoots rather than rep and it would carry over to other forums.

However? I mean that may not mean that you can definitely be counted out.
It just means it’s complicated and hard to understand likely
