I'm not rich, but I make more than I thought I would, and it wasn't that hard to get here.
I have a day job that pays very well. Find something you don't hate doing that requires skill, and do that. You can go back to my posts 8 years ago and I was straight up making $12/h. Today my base salary is $158k. I do IT. IT is really easy because most people are straight up retards, so if you pay even a bit of attention you'll be excelling and outdoing everyone around you. It took me 8 years to get here. It took my brother 2 years to hit $95k base with my advice, and that's starting from 0, no experience, no certifications, nothing. Go into IT.

What's rich? I thought I'd be dead by 30 but got sober and got a job at a natural gas utility. I make $100k+ and have some profitable investments. I know some very wealthy people, including my girlfriend. They worked extremely hard and got into profitable careers at the right time and worked up to executive roles. Internet security sales, air BNB, large corporate marketing to name a few career paths they got into. those are 3 that have 7-8 figure incomes. The corporate marketing person I know just sold the business for $30m.

i never worked a real job, but started in investing in rental properties when the market was at a historical bottom after the 08/09 crash. kept buying more properties while they were cheap and rode the appreciation in values up while collecting more and more rent. also invested in some stocks that did well along the way to help me pay cash for every home i bought.
