Because people make all kinds of choices in society, and you can always claim someone's health misfortune is their own fault if you try hard enough. It leads to absolutely retarded conclusions. If someone was driving 3mph over the speed limit and crashed, and couldn't afford emergency surgery, should he be left to die on the road? If someone was skiing with their family and impaled themselves on something should they be left to die?

37 out of 38 OECD countries can manage universal or near universal health coverage, but the most powerful and technologically advanced one just can't. Imagine supporting this unironically.

You should understand.. there are laws, regulations and overall actions committed by government without the approval of the US citizens.

We’re supposedly a democracy, but that only happens, allegedly, when voting in elections.

Everything else government does, seems to be doing it without the approval of the people.

Their border as well.

There is a reason Dave is a cop, living off the government.

This is correct. In Canada people die very often waiting for care, "free" walk- in clinics are steadily closing so ER is the only resort, doctors fleeing to other countries where the government is not setting prices, cant get family doctor for years, subpar "care because they got to get you out of the office, government dictates what they feel you need to be tested for...etc.

Plain and simple. Its crap. Wincell you can spout all your "educated" nonsense but I am living it. The realities are it may work in small, homogeneous societies with a focus on healthy living.

This is the conjob the capitalists pull. They bloat, manipulate, capture, and ruin our government. Then they point at it and argue the government can't do anything. No. It can. We need to clean house. That's all.

For some strange reason people are under the impression that if Americans cannot pay they cannot receive healthcare. Sorry to burst your bubble. But homeless and poor people get treated all the time.

We actually had a homeless guy where I live who racked up $300K worth of ambulance rides. (Privatized ambulance company). Guess what. He still got his ride every single time he needed/wanted one. Dude was in and out of the hospital at least 1-2x per week for nonsensical reasons.

Our healthcare system is not perfect. But the government always ****s everything up. I have 0 faith in their ability to regulate healthcare.

I would rather Zero money go abroad and every illegal was sent home and don’t get to use our healthcare system and education system for free. Maybe then we could talk about healthcare

Because Americans listen to jews who think money is the end all be all of life, and these jews have brainwashed them into fighting their very own interest at every turn.

Thats why Americans support some big fat cats getting rich off of the suffering of sick people, to the point that these industry jews are promoting lifestyles that lead to disease.

Americans oppose anything that is good for the common man, and support everything that is good for the elite/jews. Thats why the country is in the deplorable state it's in today.

People would live too long - this would
1. Increase social security cost
2. Decrease available housing
3. Reduce housing affordability
4. Cause more harm to the environment

The best way to pull this of is a promotional euthanasia system included.

I.e anyone between the ages of 65-71 have an option of assisted suicide with a tax-free inheritance award of $150k going to a relative, or loved ones, of their choosing.

That system would save us money, free up housing, and help the environment.

That's a huge oversimplification, and not a very accurate one imo.

First - "Universal Healthcare" would just be putting a bandaid over a much deeper issue.
Second - Nothing is free. Without addressing all of those bigger issues, it will just result in bigger tax/financial burdens on the middle class (to subsidize the chit) that's already getting bled dry.

Hell, even in the UK you have private health insurance, yet why would that be necessary under Universal Healthcare?

I don't get when people use that argument.

Also, under this system, would taxpayers pay for the surgeries of trannies? Would we have to pay for their meds?

It is indeed a simplification, but it is true at its core, and also the source for many other American problems.
I'm speaking to the spirit of American society, not necessarily the fact that we need universal health care.

All of America's issues lead back to its weird idea of individualism/anti-governance combined with its obsession with money. So would universal healthcare in our current conditions make sense? No, but in a better America people would be able to afford all the healthcare they needed, by whichever mechanism makes that possible whether it be "universal" or "private"

In that same better America there wouldn't be millions of foreigners, a complete lack of discipline, terrible food options, and industries who pushed bad habits on people either.

What's wrong with individualism? Look at Arnold, he came here with just a few bucks, and look at the life he created for himself, because he left Socialism behind.

Because the politicians are paid by the pharmaceuticals and private insured companies to keep going on with this current horrible system. These politicians than say universal care is bad for you. What you have is the population of the United States of America just listening to whatever their politician is preaching from their lobbyist.
