Sorry guy with the gun was way out of line. Big rush to judgemet call in his behalf his intentions were probably good but if you are not educated and more importantly experienced even good intentions can land you on a bad spot.

Idiot wanna be tough guy biker should get some slaps on the wrist too though.

Doesn't seem like any charges were filed. Just says they were detained on scene

what do you think the guy in the car should have done, then? I agree the guy shouldn't have drawn his gun to intimidate the guy (I would keep it hidden until the moment to draw and fire, personally) but when the biker has the gun aimed on him and continues being belligerent, I think all bets are off.

I didn't see a gun in the bikers hand. I just seen him shouting at someone in a window in the car in front of him

Both behaved liked idiots.

it doesn't matter if he didn't have a gun. If he was acting belligerent and making threats (which we don't know what was said) and the other driver had reason to believe he was in danger, he had the right to pull his gun. Personally I won't wait to get shot or attacked before I draw.

That doesn't give you the right to do that.

Again. There is no winner in this situation.

We all.make poor choices at times though. Hopefully he will get a good talking to and soak up some knowledge. Next time it might not work out so well.

Exactly. We should have the same self defense rights as police. Wonder what state this is in? I think the cops in my state would thank that guy for being prepared to defend self and others.

We had BLM protests in my town after the George floyd. Cops allowed citizens to oversee the protests with ar15s and got high fives by the local pd. A guy even stationed on top of a parking garage with a 338 lapua overseeing the protests.

I’d be mad if he was arrested but since he was just detained I’m not seeing the problem. That’s typically what happens when there’s an incident involving a gun

Wrong. Assuming the guy is legally carrying his firearm in accordance with state/local laws, this is a good draw IMO. Guy didn't shoot and he didn't threaten, he drew in anticipation that the biker was going into his saddlebag for a weapon. Honesty thought the same thing realtime as I was watching it.

That said, cops have to challenge the armed citizen and arrest him to make sure the draw was legal as well as his carry of a firearm. No one was shot, and looks like no one was charged. This is about as good as this scenario could have ended.

Not going to put my life or my kid's life in danger because of some steroid taking buffoon on a bicycle.

No charges were filed and both were only detained on scene

Edit*

Op, it states in the description of the video that they were only detained.

Where are you getting the info that he was arrested?

“Police detained two men after this road-rage incident that ended with one man pulling a gun out in Virginia Beach, Virginia.”

Guy in the SUV can always press charges against the biker. They were both detained so his info will be in the report.

sorry about the semantics; go ahead and PM a mod to have them change the title. It looked strange one cop saw the incident, the biker being a ****head, then 5 cops swarm the guy's vehicle.

I’ll just log into my own MOD account and take care of this mess. Smh I have to do everything around this place.

While I’m doing that you should familiarize yourself with the definitions of semantics, detain and arrest.

This whole thing is dumb and I don’t feel bad for anyone who participates in road rage to any degree.

However, brandishing a gun without a need is illegal. Opening a cargo compartment is not.

I get that you can say he could have been going for a gun so the dude had to make a choice. Everyone who carries knows the rules. And everyone who carries knows that protecting yourself can end in jail.

Both of these guys deserve an ass beating. Glad no one was hurt or got arrested.

Nothing that we can see, but “true threats” are a crime according to the Supreme Court.

Either way, the DA wouldn’t move forward if there was no legal standing.

And I love you too
