Trump shouldn't be able to jam up Jack Smith proceedings ....

with bullshyt claims of immunity, when he was indeed not immune from the liabilities of January 6th.

Trump not immune from Capitol riot lawsuits, appeals court rules, opening door to monetary damages
https://www.cnbc.com/2023/12/01/trum...its-court.html

My personal take on this is that the SC is absolutely complicit in Trump's crimes if a trial can't be held before the election.

This won't end well for the country if Trump skates on his crimes, I'll tell you that.

So Democrats can get people to sue everyone who disagrees with them, how come Republicans didn't get anyone sued or held accountable for summer of 2020?

When is Maxine Waters and Pelosi going to be held accountable for inciting George Floyd riots causing deaths and cities to burn down?

The more the government goes after him should tell you he, the enemy of the elite, is not the people’s enemy, and he needs to be back in charge. Trump is not a threat to us. Those who want to lock him up are. They are the real bad guys and brainwashed most of you who hate him

So they wait two and a half years to lay charges but complain that the trial isn't moving fast enough.

It's unprecedented to charge a former President, and legal cases take time.

More like precedent... which is important in the legal world. We have countless examples of lefty politicians spouting terrifying rhetoric against their opposition, and then a right wing politician gets shot while playing softball, or the countiy burns due to riots. If this was "illegal," surely we would have seen charges or at least an investigation into those who were fanning the flames... but we got nothing. But Trump, who never once encouraged violence, get's charged?

Here’s the thing boyo. When prosecuting the leader of political oppositions. If it’s not a clean cut “he stole this or did this”. And it’s superfluous nonsense that is very much a partisan issue with federal agencies weaponized against political rivals. And you are using the courts to eliminate a political rival.

It makes you a fukking banana republic.

Super dead fukking serious, this the chit America used to make fun of china and Russia over. You fgts are starting to sound like Putin apologists.

Sounds like what Trumpy was doing in 2016 and then couldn’t even get Hillary indicted. Looks like this is different though, seeing how there is clear evidence he promoted illegal means to try to overturn the 2020 elections with gimmicks like phony electoral college voters in swing states.

Hilarious.

Putin openly interfered in 2016 to undermine Hilary’s campaign. Pundits believe he stayed out of this one thinking trump would just win. He definitely interfered in 2016. It’s too bad he didn’t help trump in 2020we’d be far better off and we’re better off under him. Unless you are in the top 1% you don’t benefit from Biden in office. Anyone defending Biden thinking he’s for the people and that they’re one of the leftist politicians in the White House is a moron. And a disgrace.

Pretty incredible that Trump came up with the idea of alternate electors all on his own.. oh wait... that was used/proposed in the past?

Let's just look at what happened to those involved in prior events. Surely they spent significant time behind bars. Surely...

Ah, so now it’s about who came up with the idea, not whose campaign tried to reverse the results of like 5-6 states during a post-election meltdown. LMAO

Don’t care about the stock market, national debt, or inflation at all. What I care about money wise is myself and mine. And everything I bought was cheap under trump. Not saying he’d take us back to that Normalcy on day one, but voting for the man who we kept more money we worked for under would be a step in the right direction. people are arguing the nation was in debt as a whole. Who gives a ful? not me. I just want food (meat, eggs), gas, medical expenses, and any item I shop for to go back to being cheap. Housing up what 80% under Biden than we had under trump.

You guys have to feel it at the grocery and the pump. Either you guys voted Biden are stupid af or you are fine having your bills get higher just to feel as if you got the last laugh or got one over on him.

If the role was reversed and a Republican even trump had literally everything I buy skyrocket on price i would no doubt vote out that republican.

One thing to keep in mind.

Those things are more expensive primarily because of ppp loans and handouts and shutdowns. The massive capitalization for sitting on our asses and doing nothing.

Now it’s not fair to only lay the blame at trumps feet, the democrats were pushing for shutdowns and handouts just as much and I would hazard would have given away more. But it’s important to keep in mind trump did not have the gumption or will to avoid the economic death sentence, which is now turning into a hyperinflation can kick because they can’t stomache a crash that involves “systemic damage to the financial system”.

But it’s also important to note that these threads devolving into other “this is why trump is bad” points is because the initial premise. The whole “inciting rebellion” nonsense, is just that, nonsense. They need a barrage of points and reasons and incessant nagging as to why trump is terrible. Because they don’t want to allow opposition to have a voice, they want this to be a banana republic, they no longer care about the will of the people, just the will of their side and what’s acceptable to them.

Trump was sending weapons to Ukraine.

Trump was a China hawk.

Trump was an aggressor against Iran.

Seems pretty standard.

If it sets the precendent for politicians being held responsible for their actions, surely that's a good thing, even if Trump is the first. Someone has to be.

Aren't a lot of those same people (the politicians anyway) saying "we have better things to do" than look into Biden?

IF the standards were going to be consistent, moving forward, then I might agree. I have major doubts (and with good reason) that will be the case though.

Still waiting to see if the dude who pulled the fire alarm will experience any consequences, for example. Any day now, I'm sure....
