Makes it hard to enjoy a lot of games these days. They don't even try to hide it anymore. I miss when Playstation was primarily a Japanese brand.

Because it's bombarded to the consumer. It's not the fact that it exists, it's the fact that they must change lore, history, and original creation to form a narrative for a very low populous of gamers and those that watch this form of entertainment. No one had an issue in the 80's or 90's with Blade, Spawn, etc because they did not make it about diversity..they made it about creating good story and content. Now they have traded good writing (which is why they have to steal from the original and make everyone black) for flagwaving and diversity.

That's 100% what I'm seeing from an outside-comics/heroes perspective - the character is basically free money.

Likewise, that is also why Sony was so willing to make such drastic concessions on hardware bundles with Disney - they know that it'sstillworth it because all it takes is slapping "spiderman" on a box to sell like crack in spandex.

Again as someone who doesn't follow any of these, I'm far less sure about the rest of Insomniac's marvel plans for Wolverine and eventually X Men. The avengers movies brought spiderman back to the spotlight while Sony was floundering about, current Disney has gone full retard. So while Sony at least has control over the spidermanfilmright and aren't held completely hostage to whatever insane bullschit Disney now decides to pull on their movie end, they signed away their souls over who-the-hell-even knows at the rate Disney is going.

I'm sure they're going to try to capitalize on Hugh Jackman returning to the Wolverine role, but all I know is that is for Deadpool 3, which is in and of itself a whole other monster (1) being under Disney now and (2) the marvel movies being such a fücking joke now that I honestly question what the point even is for a third Deadpool (especially after the second kind of sucked).

Now, even I liked the Logan movie, so I could see a temporary bump with Hugh Jackman being involved in anything attached to the character, but who's to say that Disney won't recast him for the rest oftheiruniverse and poison that well, too.That's where the wholeSweet Baby Inc.comes into play.

Kind of expanding on our discussion with Sony's budget cuts, that's the type of wasteful idiocy alongside all of the corporate diversity/inclusion divisions that needs to be cracked down upon by higher ups and auditors.

Don't cut useful developers or quality assurance, gut the oppression olympic tardathletes and inclusivity gestapo, then watch as productivity and morale skyrockets, costs and development times drop, and the games drastically improve almost as though by magic.

Like one criticism I've heard of the first game was the forced MJ missions, sonaturallyInsomniac's move for the next game was to turn her into a mannish, square-jawed stand-in for one of the writers with evenmoreManny James missions in a game calledspiderman 2. If the company wasn't overrun by prototypical Californians and was governed by some common sense, they would have been amongst the first on the chopping block. With nothing changing other than Sony breathing down their necks to trim their budgets and lay off staff, you can guarantee that instead of doing something intelligent, they will cut out bits for the titular character instead.Bingo.

Too many companies have neglected or completely discarded proper characters, world building, and stories, and their shallow excuses for plots only service the writers' political narratives. Despite everything supposedly being more "diverse and inclusive!" than ever, it feels like we're in a dark age of media because nothing that they're putting out can hold a candle to efforts in the past. Then they try to prey on ignorance to push the idea that those past works either never happened or are invalid because they're not "modern" enough, thus promoting themselves as the true risk-takers, innovators, and champions of progress.

Since they're so unabashedly proclaiming out loud what their intentions are when making these decisions, they're both actively participating in the bigotry they claim to oppose and alsocreatingmore prejudicebecausethose who are aware of their reasoning will outright avoid more content altogether.

The average person just wants to be entertained and enjoy some escapism, not be waterboarded with some individual or group's propaganda poorly disguised as entertainment. They can't even pull together a remotely convincing progressive, social justice message because they only know how to lecture and bash people over the skull with whatever doublespeak drivel they adhere to under the assumption that everyone is as stupid as they are to actually buy it.

it isn't just insomniac... it's pretty much all of hollywood, television, and gaming. The studios have been mandating that there be at least one gay character for a while now. That's why this chit feels to forced in media.

Tried to watch Monarch TV series... and just as predicted, they made her just randomly sexing another bish. Asian female. Gay.
