there's no reason to work too hard at work. you just get rewarded with more work.

same with schoolwork. you're better off taking the easier professors and finding ways to be efficient.

work smarter not harder.

Working hard is for people who think effort equals output.

I never work hard. I optimize and delegate.

Lol at working hard.

What exactly is the reason to try though?

Recognition?

More table scraps or a shiny fun thing?

Another dollar?

lol, how about I just chill for the rest of my life and and not worry about unnecessary noise? Because that sounds fun to me.

Came to post this. It all depends if you're in a situation where hard work is rewarded.

For say school, working hard tends to lead to better grades. In the gym, working hard and being consistent leads to more gainz.

In a 2020s cubecel job? Working hard doesn't get you chit. All the salaries are pay-banded, so you get paid the same as the guy leaving 1hr early every day. And promotions are poiltical.

In relationships? People either reciprocate or they phuckin don't. Working harder isn't the answer, it just makes you a simp.

Tons of old addages from the Boomer lifestyle was a psy-op to convince people to be good little employees.

I schooled my dad the other day because he says it's best to come in an hour early and stay and hour late.

I told him if I had an employee doing that, I would consider him as disorganized, poor use of time management, needs extra time to do thr same job as others, is over burdened with work and cannot do more aka can't be given more responsibilities, isn't ready for a promotion, etc. Etc. Etc.

I have a reason, you'll draw hatred from coworkers for being a try hard and you'll have to play politics to not develop a bunch of enemies, on top of dealing with expending your finite daily amount of energy for people who don't even really give a chit.

I just dealt with it, almost got fired from two complainers I brutally mogged into oblivion who do literally 20%-40% of my numbers. I mentioned once they weren't pulling their weight and got rekt politically due to them leaking chit I said back when we were closer.

agreed. As an employee, your goal is to do enough that you don't get fired. Anything more isn't compensated.

This is the first time I've seen you right about anything.

But usually you're talking about being Incel or Socio-Political nonsense, so... try to talk about other things more often?

"One day I won't be able to lift any more. Not I won't want to lift. I mean physically unable. That day could be decades from now or it could be tomorrow. All I know is that's the day I'll wish I could lift more than ever. The day I'd give anything for one more workout, one more set, or one more cardio session. So go hard and enjoy every workout, every set, every rep. Because one day you will wake up and you will never get it back."

Or the employee is motivated to master his craft and wrap his life around it to become the best in the industry in order to command premium dollars years from now.

Okay, now granted most people today are lazy mother****ers and for every 1 that meets my definition 999 will meet yours and will just sit there surfing youtube for those extra hours, but still, exceptions exist.

I'm the hardest worker on the misc srs.

I make a lot of money but I still question if all the hard work was worth it srs.

My conclusion is: Money is important but it's really nothing without proper balance in your life.
