Trump releases 1st major attack ad against Haley, linking her to Biden

Something's going on in NH.

The Trump campaign and his surrogates (Noem etc.) wouldn't expend resources to attack her this way for nothing. The internal Trump polls from NH have to show her within 10 points.

not really. People that have an interest in a GOP candidate other than trump have probably already made up their mind they're not interested in trump.

yeah, its exhausting. usually after an election, you can just tune out of politics until the next cycle of debates start up 3.5 years later, but it seems like the entire country has been forced to follow politics day in and day out since 2016.

Doesn't help that all our media is controlled by a handful of companies, each with overt political biases. And social media, especially Twitter, hyperpolarized our society. It really feels like all discourse is dead now. It's just politics online. Even when you want to talk about a movie or show or a song, people bring up politics. Everyone is so wrapped up in this or that label rather than really caring about improving life via policy.

Our best and smartest people tend to avoid careers in politics because of all the shyt that gets thrown at you. Eventually, some of it sticks.

Why not elect this guy?

I don't even care what his politics are. I'd have total confidence that he is smart and dedicated and would do his best to do the right thing for people. That guy is objectively superior to Trump, Biden, etc.

Yep, nailed it. Earlier last year I took a bit of a break from following all this nonsense. Everytime I felt inclined to go to the r/p or look up some news article, I'd just crack open a fiction book i've been reading to occupy my time. During that time I even managed to get "politics" out of my social media algorithms, but all it took was the debates to start up this past fall, and me watching a couple of highlights for my entire feed to be about he-said/she-said political banter.

You're a part time observer of the world you live in and tune into MSM whenever you need to be told what to think about something or who to vote for.

Believe it or not, there is way more to life than politics. Do you have friends? My friend is a fking libertarian, and I am a commie. Yet we still get along.

Whats the cliche mantra of the soldier who is forced to become a General? He's usually forced into the position not because he wants the position to lead, but because hedoesn't. The same applies with being President. The people that would make the best leaders for this country don't even want to be embroiled in all the "Pomp and Circumstance" of being a leader.

You have to be a real narcissist to think that you and only you have what it takes to make decisions for 330 million people.

If not following politics 24/7/365 makes me an NPC, then I guess i'm an NPC.

All I know is, when I do follow politics day in and day out, it doesn't make my life any better, i'm not happier or more financially stable. If you really stop and think about it, American politics is nothing more than a day-time soap opera, but its real life.

No matter how you vote everything will stay the same. Sure one party may do one or two things ever so slightly different, but overall when it comes to things that actually matter, both parties legislate the exact same way.

and if you think there's a difference between the parties then maybe its YOU who is the NPC.

That's why I wish someone like that Jonny Kim guy would run. We have so many amazing people, but nobody wants to get involved because they have families and don't want to get attacked and have their lives ruined. Our system selects for popular, fame seeking narcissists.

It's a consequence of a casual desire to stay informed. People such as yourself, on both the Left and Right, will run to their media outlets to be told what to think about a subject and run with it. They pay little to no attention to peripheral events, trends, or the like. When you let your world view be shaped by the media, the media is going to shape your world view.

That's why rhetoric like "Iraq has WMDs!", "Trump is worse than 13 9/11s", "A deep state doesn't exist!", "COVID is going to kill us all!", or "an attack on Israel is an attack on America!" have had such a profound impact on the casual MSM consumer.

More informed people who have stuck around long enough, paid attention, and know the government and MSM lie, are better equipped at identifying and dismantling the propaganda.

Casually informed people just consume it and run with it.
