Why is it considered some kind of social taboo to wear undies under your swim trunks?

I never understood this, fellas. I really don't want my genitals hanging out there. Out there in the open. A good swoosh of water, and I'm fully exposed. And its not like folks would be setting a gaze on a nice, plump, semi-flaccid cock. No sir. Its that cold-water-induced, shriveled-up raisin they'd be getting a glimpse of. I certainly don't want that. Imagine the humiliation. I'd never get over it. So I've always worn boxer-briefs under my trunks. Always. I've been mocked for it plenty of times. But I don't know why anyone would do things any differently. Its not only uncomfortable to go without undies, but if you're in a natural body of water, you could get a leech to the scrote or something. Minnow up the bung. You're really exposed out there. Honestly, I never understood the taboo, fellas. What's wrong with wearing undies under your trunks? On the beach. At the swimming pool. Why is it such a bad thing? I don't get it.

it's not that it's taboo, it just that it's dumb and uncomfortable. You're interpreting taboo when it's really revealing your inexperience around water and people silently judging that.

Certainly not uncomfortable and I see nothing dumb about it. Lets be real here partner, if a gal wanted to wear a small pair of undies beneath her swimsuit, maybe just for comfort, or even as a way to protect against a possible labia slip, I'm sure no one would have the slightest problem with it.

I never done it but I assume its because sand/salt wont get dried or rinse off

Not really all that soggy, partner. I wear the Under Armor spandex-type boxer briefs. They dry at about the same rate as the swim trunks. Not like I'm wearing wool boxers under there.

You're supposed to wear underwear under board shorts because there's no lining or netting.

A regular bathing suit has a lining or netting so no need for underwear.

The problem with regular underwear under a bathing suit is that they don't dry quickly like the bathing suit does. So you're walking around in soggy wet undies for the rest of the day.

I've never really seen people make fun of underwear. I've seen blacks get made fun of for wearing basketball shorts and underwear instead of a bathing suit. You very rarely see black people who own bathing suits which is really weird. I've also seen plenty of mexicans go into the ocean in full clothing, shirts, jeans... everything.

depends. sometimes i wear underwear under board shorts if the waist is a bit big. if they're snug, no undies. let some people catch a glimpse of this if they're blessed enough.
