Mostly Veganism Has Made Me Sick for 30 years!

No one is looking at my ED thread anymore so I will post this here:

---------

@Cass, Kimm and Legz

It occurred to me the problem with my eating while I was in the shower!

In 2000, 2008, 2020 and 2021 when I lost 20-50 lbs, I WAS MOSTLY VEGAN! So I was in a deficit like Kimm said, but I wasn't eating much protein and it wasn't animal protein.

Thus I fainted several times, in 2008 cutting my head open and waking up to a shirt of blood and ending up in the ambulance, and unable to drive after that from the stitches and I was so dizzy. I had really low Iron, especially from heaving bleeding, so that caused dizziness and fatigue, plus Low B-12, and low sodium and potassium so they inserted IVs.

The Stanford Eating Disorder Dr. told me in 2000 that many of his eating disorder patients are vegetarian and vegan, and I've noticed many on the ED forums are vegan, so he made me eat meat and a ton of Greek yogurt, cottage cheese and eggs in the hospital, so that's why I said it didn't taste good.

The ED lady I met for coffee yesterday purges 2-5 times a day and she's vegan!!!!!!!!!!!!!

THANK YOU SO MUCH AS I NEED TO APOLOGIZE TO MY FAMILY AND FRIENDS. Husband and daughter thought I was unreliable driving and just got sick of the ambulances. Plus I was sick all of the time with colds and sinus infections.

HOLY COW, IT WAS MY VEGANISM! I created so many problems.

Didn't read a single word you fat pig. But your thread title is misleading. Veganism hasn't made you sick, being a self admitted 350 lb drug addict has.

Yeah dealing with a sick relative recently, i learned that the blood work shows most all things and women tend to be Anemic, so they need a bit of everything to top off low levels.

your problem OP is simply that you are you

its not the veganism or the meds or the ex husband or the "chads" and felipes who ran thru you or the diagnoses or the eating disorders or any of that chit

you are completely nutso, you just are, its been over for you from the jump, you aren't fixable and there's no traceable root to or culprit for why you are so fuked. you are very mentally ill, you are a poison to yourself and others

why don't you leave this forum as you are neither gey or indian or a bodybuilder, do us all a favor and please fist yourself and fuk off
money, cars, clothes and hoes is all a miscer knows

You’re right that it’s very common for women to be anemic.

My problem is that I would also think it was the starvation and increase my protein and food intake.

Our elders tend not to eat very well and lose their appetites so they end up with a lot of nutritional deficiencies.

I’m soooo sore from returning to weights and cardio!

And the solution when weak is to get iv bags of nutritional deficiencies, so just eat instead; it is a hell of a lot cheaper.

Who knows to be honest. There are so much conflicting info in YouTube. I follow this Dr.Lyon who always talk about the importance of protein and that you can’t get enough quality protein being vegetarian. Then other doctors say that it’s not a problem and Americans get enough protein in their diets. That’ll be the day that doctors agree on anything.

Don’t obsess.

That said I’d never be a vegan. I don’t think it’s the healthiest diet for humans. And I do agree that quality skeletal muscle is super important as we age and it would be difficult to get those amino acids etc. being a vegan.

I don't know which way to go.

I tried veganism years ago for about 1.5 years, didn't like it.

I did it healthy too, no bull**** like eating processed stuff.

So I just make sure to get a good balance of foods, lots of rice and vegetables.

I definitely eat more rice and veg than I do meat.

People seem to forget, or not know, I was taught that a serving of meat is about the size of your palm.

Many people are eating 3-4X that in a single serving.
The billionaire and the beggar both have 24 hours in a day.

That's why grandma's apple pie rocks and yours sucks.

If we just eat the foods that God provided (meats, fruits, veggies) we'll all make it champ.

Palm size makes more sense because my palm isn't as big as Brian Shaw's.

If you want to feel satiated and not find yourself going to the cabinet for junk snacks, ya need more animal protein. Eating 1000 calories of chocolate covered pretzels and you won't even feel full. 1000 calories of beef you're not going to feel hungry for many hours, and it would be hard AF to consume 1000 calories of chicken with just some spices on it.
Yeah Buddyyy! Light weight! Light weight baby!!!!

My daughter has been vegan for the last 6 years and it has been good for her. When she started I procured for her a couple of very good vegan cookbooks as well as a well written nutrition guide for being being vegan. It's possible to eat well on a vegan diet but it does take work. I've modified some of the recipes I like to make to be vegan so that we can share some dishes at dinner. She spent a couple of summers in Thailand at the in-laws and worked on her culinary chops with regards to vegan food. Of course we do a lot of N. Indian cooking which has a lot of good vegan dishes.

Yeah I’ve read both ways as well.

I choke on meat but that could be anxiety.

I’ll just have to be more conscientious.

What happens is I’ll start with eggs and dairy and slip away from them when I’m not thinking about them as much when other things take priority.

Back in the 70s my parents practiced food combining like cornbread and beans when we had veggie dinners (but most of our dinners had meat) yet then when I became a vegetarian in 1990 I read that food combining wasn’t required.

Nutrition is always confusing. When I played tennis in college high carb was the fad so I remember ordering pancakes with no butter or syrup for breakfast, a salad for lunch and sweet potatoes and something else for dinner!

People hate you so much they flee whatever forum you post in.

Thanks for sharing.

I remember one nutritionist told me that one needs to eat legumes to get enough protein.

Thai dishes are great. So are Indian.

Since I take Ozem****, which is muscle wasting, my Dr wants me to eat 100 g of protein a day, and lift 3-4x a week.

It’s hard to get that much protein in on a vegan diet in 1500 calories.

I know Vitamin B-12 only exists in animal products so that needs to be supplemented.

Iron is another one that’s tough to get in, especially if you have heavy periods as I did.

I’m glad you gave her some good reading and research.
