Anyone else not have motivation to cook anymore?

I'm a person who diets out of convenience and taste. That's what allows me to stick to diets long term.

I recently tried cooking at home for all meals - chicken and rice two times a day. Having to clean dishes, having to defrost, cut, and marinade chicken every two days, having to cook, this is too much effort.

I get my protein from shakes, protein bars, and chipotle once a day. Anyone else do the same?

motivation for it comes and goes. getting carry out sucks so much these days that it's easier to maintain cooking motivation.

Chipotle is a 10 minute walk from me and another place is about 15 minutes so not a big deal for me. The prices kind of suck though, $12.63 here for a standard burrito after tax. Over a month with their rewards program and cashback it's about $312, and I spend about $100 more on groceries for the month so it's not bad.

its tough sometimes, especially during the work week. I had thawed some chicken but put it back in the freezer cause I didn't feel like cooking it lol.

The cleaning required is a pain as well

Fuk no blood, I love cooking, it's a hobby of mine. I always look for new and tasty recipes, see my thread I made yesterday.

I do meal prep on a Sunday afternoon. It takes a little bit of time, but once you're done, you've got a fridge stuffed full of a literal week of meals. It's massively time saving. And I make tasty effing meals: Mongolian Beef, Nasi Goring, Prawn Linguine, the Bodhy Burger etc.

One big cooking session and everything goes into the dishwasher after that. I push a button and forget about it, comes back squeaky clean. I'm done for the entire week from there.
Back off, Warchild.

Seriously.

There are healthy options for fast food, but cooking is better if you meal prep. I usually make a big batch of quinoa southwest chicken salad or just a bunch of chicken and veggies.

I eat a diet of only this:

Carbs: Fruit and vegetables, not many carbs in total though

Protein: skinless boneless chicken thighs, pork shoulder steak, eggs, beef mince

Fat: EVOO, whatever I get from meat

Liquid: Water, Sparkling water, Coffee

Supplement: Vitamin D in combination with Calcium, Omega 3

When I oven bake something, I take out the tray and cut up vegetables directly into the tray and I eat from the tray. Then I remove the foil and bin it, no clean up necessary apart from utensils.

When I pan fry something, I take off the pan from the stove and put on a pan trivet on my table, then put vegetables in the pan and eat from the pan. Only a pan to wash afterwards.

Fruit is usually berries they come in a plastic container with holes at the bottom so you can directly rinse, eat the berries and dispose.

With this configuration, I cook lunch and dinner (no breakfast, IF) fresh everyday as the time to prep is giga fast - especially for pan ****. Oven baking takes 30 mins or so, but in the meantime you can shower, masturbate, write an email.

The only reason why I own 2 white plates is when I have sloots over, dead fkn SRS.

I don't mind cooking, but I really only care to do it if it will involve serving people other than myself. I never understood people who obsess over elaborate cooking, sometimes taking upwards of hours at a time, when they feed almost exclusively just themselves. Yeah it's better, but I just don't care about impressing myself to worry about it that much. I got better chit to do than mess around with the smoker outside in between farting around in the kitchen for a few hours, when I could just eat something quick. Like miscing, for example.

I don't mind cooking, it's doing dishes that gets me.
Short cuts to success are often paved with lies.

my only exercise is 3 lifting sessions and walking

all of this adds up to not that many cals necessary to maintain, and I need to cut

my cutting cals are 2.5k

OP, I'm about to change your life, buy an instantpot and meal prep for the whole week, takes me less than an hour (not of work because the instantpot does most of it) to prepare some meat pasta.

You just throw everything inside (onions, meat, pasta etc. spices and sauce at the end) and go do your thing, 30 min later you have your week of delicious food ready.

Takes me like 30mins to prep my lunches.

Buy steak mince, make steak burgers. Put in fridge. Buy halloumi. Airfry steak burgers and halloumi in the morning for 10mins. Throw some jalapenos in. Lunch done for the day.

Good on ya to do that for yourself, but there will never come a day in my life where I spend 30+ minutes on making 1 lunch meal for just myself. Dinner when I'm feeling motivated, but unless I'm feeding at least one other person too, I can't be bothered to put much effort into it most of the time.

Reheated pasta meals are disgusting to me, and you always need to sauce them up extra after taking them out of the fridge/freezer. Doesn't matter if you dumped a whole can of Prego or Ragu on 2 cups worth of noodles; those noodles WILL manage to end up seeming dry, despite also seeming soggy at the same time.

Also, this. I detest doing dishes when I can avoid it.
