Been about 5 years since I used whey protein

Mind boggling that I wasted money on this **** for so long, $70+ now for a tub?

I was looking to buy whey protein, but with so many using artificial sugar, I'll probably pass.

I'm guessing you get most of your protein from food? What do you usually eat and how many grams?

Much better to get protein and fats from real foods. 1g/lb lean bodyweight is more than adequate.

The thing is most 'bodybuilders' are already getting ample protein from foods. I would say there's some exceptions in the general population where they simply aren't eating enough protein, so maybe they should supplement temporarily until their diet is adjusted with higher protein/fat meals.

I tried all kinds of whey proteins and others over the years. None of it ever made one bit of difference in my training results. I get plenty of protein from normal food, so no need to add more to it just for the sake of it.

1g is a clear and simple rule, it's more than enough yes. The last time I read meta-analyses it was 0.82g iirc.

One cup of plain non-fat Greek yogurt has as much protein as a typical scoop of whey protein

Yeah I'm gonna go this route then. Start weighing food. Incorporated Almonds/Yogurt for extra protein.

There's still good deals. Looked for the cheapest 2lbs tub I could find on the walmart website. About $20, and 170 Cals x 18 servings. That's 155 Calories per dollar, with fairly favorable macros. That's about right for groceries. Compare that to Chipotle where a $13 900 cals bowl is 69.23 Cals per dollar, with crappy macros.
