I just learned the whole concept of being a "lone wolf" is not actually alpha

Wolves run in packs (aka "wolf pack")

With an alpha male in charge of the pack

A lone wolf is one who's been ostracized from the pack

So he has to fend for himself because the pack no longer wants him

Kind of how a loner is almost always by himself because others don't want him as part of their social circle

So the loner copes by thinking to himself that he's a "lone wolf"

The real alpha is the guy who's dominant and respected in his social circle because it shows he's strong enough that others are lead by him

Not the guy without a social circle who nobody cares about

The average male is feminized. There are very few "alpha wolf packs." That ended in 2012. Lone wolf is a response to being the only alpha in ur surroundings.

Ur theory might've been correct in the past, but it is not anymore.

I must admit I often think it is used as a cope for questionable traits/behaviour.

If it helps, think of it in the same vein as a woman declaring herself “a strong independent, empowered woman”. Now, some really are, but many are just narcissistic ungrateful immature self-involved bitches etc.

I.e trying to fit in, being a poser, consciously doing things because they think it's ALPH or.makes them look alpha when in reality regardless of the act if your reason for doing it is to appear to look like someone you are not that negates any and all alpha out of the equation..

there is some truth though if you need a support system (like most people do) its better to exist in a wolf pack.

additionally you can't control your pack....if you are born into a family or town where everyone is an alcoholic or abusive and you abandon them as a lone-wolf would ...does that make you the crazy one? also plenty of great thinkers innovators etc were and are lone wolfs.
