Wtf @ chipotle burrito sizes

I've been eating there for dinner the past week and weighing out my burritos since I get the same one every day. 375g consistently for a tortilla, rice, chicken, and cheese.

There's another place near me called Dos Toros which is basically a chipotle clone.

Here's what's interesting: they have the same ingredients and same portion sizes on their nutrition calculator. Tortilla, rice, chicken, and cheese weighs 475g at this place.

The burritos I've been getting at Chipotle look small as fuk.

Lol'd. Anyone notice this chit? Today I'm going to get my burrito, open it up at home, and weigh the rice, cheese, and chicken to see if I'm being jewed, and post that chit online.

It's not like the burritos have shrunk, you just need to pressure the people working there to give you more fillings.

For mine, they can barely put the lid of the burrito bowls when it's finished. But I often see other people go through with like 1/4 the amount of food in the same bowl.

I shouldn't have to do anything. I have asked for more and this retard looking black lady still skimps. I definitely have noticed that they will make the serving spoon nearly flat nowadays when adding ingredients, it's not in my head. Multiple employees have done it.

Ask for a "ton of rice" and "two scoops of each type of bean". It's not extra for additional rice and beans.

For Chicken, they sometimes try to skimp but just make sure to tell them, "Two giant scoops of chicken".

Its Bidenomics. Prices go up 80%, companies downsize the product and drop the price 30%. Biden can claim he is bringing prices down 30% for the win all while prices are still up 50%.

It's brilliant marketing!!!

Yep, I used to get the bowl with just the meat and rice and it was like empty. Now I get fajita veggies, sour cream, cheese, chili-corn, basically have to fill the bowl and can ask for more of whatever.

Not to mention buying all the ingredients. Let's see: shopping, prepping, cooking, cleaning up a meal that won't even taste as good versus clicking a button and picking up a bag.

Yep, I don't like spending the $9-13 every day for lunch, but it's decent value when I do. It's actually a pretty solid OMAD as well.

This is true, I was actually thinking that a while ago. Need to find another one to test the portion size differences.

I just go to the same Chipotle every single time, and everyone there knows me. And I always push them for huge scoops of the important things, so they're used to taking care of me.

Of course they aren't just automatically going to give you big scoops if you're some tourist who they'll never see again.

Yeah, there's some that have great barbocoa, and there's some where it all fatty and clumped together.

Burrito size depends on ingredients within. I see and personally know people who get Chipotle Burrito and only do rice, beans and protein. Of course, when its rolled up it half the size of someone who gets everything on it.

This. Its not only the location, but also the time of day that you go.

If you're going to some location across the street from a college or a bunch of tradie businesses at lunch time, they're going to be skimpy because they're busy as hell during that time, but if you go to a less popular location and especially when its close to closing time, and they're just trying to get rid of food they'll pile the burrito bowl sky high. Basically, the single serving of protein would be the equivalent of "double meat" at lunch time.

This also applies to Panda Express, and pretty much any other restaurant that serves based on portions.

San Diego crew. I bought some burrito tortillas from a local taco shop Saturday, and they were 14 freaking inches in diameter.

SD style burritos don't have any lettuce, rice or beans. The Chipotle type burritos are San Francisco mission style. Down here, you just get a phucking pizza crust sized burrito shoved full of nothing but steak and salsa.

well, rice and beans together gives you a complete amino acid profile (a complete protein) so its not all bad.

Yeah, Its not even something I think about but if you go back east, the only mexican food they really have is taco bell chipotle and maybe the occasional Del Taco.

Hell, even Sayulitas and Primo's in San Diego is better than that they have to offer back east.

I pretty much get double meat bowl by itself, with a small side of black beans, and I have my rice and grated parmesian cheese already made at home.

So they only charge me for two sides of protein.
