2 seals missing in

Two U.S. Navy SEALs are missing off the coast of ****lia after having fallen into the water during a nighttime boarding mission on Thursday, according to two U.S. officials.

The officials said that the SEALs had fallen into the water one after the other during the boarding of a vessel by boat in the Gulf of Aden.

It was unclear what had prompted them to board the vessel.

never believe the reported stories about seals dying. almost always a cover story

you saying its more likely the pirates got them or something? and they're saying they lost at sea to maintain the Seals rep as ultimate bad asses?

I mean you never know, but it is hard to believe that two SEALS just fell into the water without nobody noticing in time to rescue them. Unless we are talking about a very active battle going on, why didn't the rest of the SEALS immediately call in help?

I'd imagine that anything the SEALS are doing is under constant surveillance by drones over head. And what about the Navy ships that must've been nearby?

Either these SEALS were in an intense battle with ****li pirates that ended badly, or something else happened that they don't want us to know about. Curious timing with this being announced the day after US attacks Yemen. Coincidence? Or something else going on?

the ocean, especially at night is a great place to lose something, but it;s a good point. they;d have some kind of safety equipment i'd think.

seals do top secret missions all the time in countries we are not supposed to be in. when one dies on a mission, rather than tell the family and media the seal died on an assassination mission in iran, they make up a "training accident" story. not saying this 100% was a cover up, but its basically assumed a lot of training accidents/falling into the ocean stories are total BS

It's standard practise for the next Seal along to jump in on a man overboard as your odds of survival are greater as a duo rather than solo, according to the article I read. They were on rough seas and he slipped of the ladder so the next man immediately jumped in after him.

this is what seal said exactly happened in the video above. i initially thought the top guy slipped and dragged the lower guy with him into the ocean. seal also said its very likely they sunk if they had gear on.

I don't see how. Rucksacks trap a lot of air and can be used as a float for a long while before they become too soggy. They're going to have a knife in an easy to reach place that can easily cut them free from any entanglement.

More than likely one or a few of the big sharks known to shadow ships for easy meals got them as soon as they hit the water. It's common practice for ships to throw spoiled food and stuff overboard that attracts all sorts of sea life. Even big stuff that eats the regular sea life.

Slave ships actually changed the patterns of sharks due to dead ones being thrown overboard.
